Well after 45 mins on hold i managed to get my contract cancelled without charge and got my pac 5 mins laterLast Cigarette 24/6/090

I did not receive any text or mail notification so phoned up to cancel. This is what I got
Called up on 29/06 - got told to call next day as cancellationc closed
Called 30/06 - obnoxious woman - she argued that 3 like home was promotional so not entitled to cancel. I was sent notification by letter last month on 18th and period has elapsed. Told her I did not receive any notification. Then she went on to repeat 3LH is a promotional offer and I was notified when I took out contract etc.. Told her to put this in writing in an email to me. After 25 mins of this, she said she would put this in an email about me being sent notification, 3LH being promotional. She then called back after 30 mins and told me she would not be putting it in an email and that I need to call customer options team the next day.
Called 1/7 - customer options said a text was sent out to me on 13/5. Never received a text from them I told him. Told him that yesterday I was told I was sent a letter about 3LH. He said no we only sent text. He said I had until 18/6 to cancel and this had been extended by 3 until 28/6, so if I had called on 28/6 I would have been able to cancel. Told him women day before had said 3LH is promotional and that I would not be able to cancel even if I had phoned up within the time frame so your story doesn't add up! Told him to put this into an email to me and that I would forward it to 3 exec office. He refused. Then I said I'd like to speak to manager. He said he was on the phone so would call me in 30 mins. Probably one of his mates that he will brief will call me and I'll get the merry go round!0 -
ive had another encounter with 3 again today...
after specifically asking them not to ring me, but to write to me or email me, i still had a phonecall!
firstly bloke said he could give me another £5 on top of an orginal £20 they offered, and I asked to speak to a manager, who rang me back. She said she couldnt do alot, and raised their offer to £30. I declined this too, and said I would be contacting Ofcom and Otelo, yet she seemed unphased and gave up saying that she "couldnt do anything more for me".
so ive now wrote letters to ofcom and otelo, and have emailed the executive office.
Maybe il get some sense off the big bosses, but im not holding my breath.0 -
I sent a letter to the registered office at the end of May cancelling, and my phone and login are now dead today
Thats 11 months at £40/mo they've lost.
I don't know if they made any attempt to phone me, as the phone is always turned off unless I am roaming on 3 Like Home

Called last week with the spiel and got my pac - they had a couple of feeble goes at ''you haven't used it before'' but seemed pretty 'ready' and resigned. Pac given over phone and text. Pretty straightforward actually.
No later attempts to contact/offer anything. Have already pac'ed over to Vodafone.0 -

If the registered office is the one in glasgow then yes i have, Ive also sent a letter to maidenhead where they have offices.
You seem to have been lucky, I always get the stubborn ones who kick up a fuss! I was 3 days late from the 30 days (which was never mentioned in the text) when i contacted them on the 17th June.
Just got to hold on tight and see what happens! im not one to give in easily.0 -
after calling and receiving my pac code (even though i don't need it as i'm not transfer my number), 3 have not terminated my connection and are telling me that I can no longer cancel as my pack expired on 26th. My pac is to transfer my number which I don't want to do I just want to cancel.

The problem you have is that when they issue you with a pac the operators do say that if it is not used within 30 days your contract will NOT be terminated.
So if you has no intension of using the PAC code why did you request it?0 -
As you said Andy, and they will have told you this when they generated the PAC for you.0
