This is Mobile Phone Xchange?
Sent my old Samsung phone to them just yesterday. First time I have used this kind of service and I am totally disgusted. They have already come back and the original quote is reduced by 45%
The excuse for the massive cut is a heavily scratched touch screen. Well I examined the phone before I wrapped it in bubble wrap put it in the envelope and sent it recorded delivery. It had no heavy scratches when it left me.
I called twice for support before their close of business but after the greeting message the calls were disconnected.
The contact e.mail also doesn't work.
This is clearly a scam where they offer high prices and then make up reasons to reduce. Avoid them0 -
How I wish I had researched this company before sending my phone to them.
I was quoted £207 in Debenhams Vouchers for my iphone 3GS. Received an email today stating
"Casing damaged / missing
Phone faulty
Touchscreen has heavy scratching"
and the new amount was £67!!
The casing was not damaged, the phone was not faulty (I was using it 2 days ago) and the screen did not have heavy scratching.
I called the 0800 number and held for about 20 minutes, finally spoke to somebody who said they would charge £10 to send the phone back.
I said I would pay £5 as that more accurately reflected the real cost and he said he would see what he could do.
Will I ever hear anything again I wonder? If not, I guess I will have to tackle them in the small claims court. Equally if they return it and I discover that they have damaged it as some on here are reporting.
Have sold phones very successfully to Envirophone and others with absolutely no problems.
I should have guessed that something was up because they were offering so much more than the others. Avoid.Avoid.Avoid.
The feedback on here and elsewhere on the web should be enough to get Mobile Phone XChange shut down.0 -
ttt this outfit should be closed down don't go near.0

I sold my old iphone 3G with Vodaphone buy back who use this company. I was told it was worth £79. For safety I sent it recorded delivery at a cost of 5.90. I then received an email from them telling me the phone was not working (it was) and offering me £12. I emailed back and said I did not accept that offer and I wanted the phone back. They then emailed me again and offered me £50 but said if I wanted the phone back I would have to pay them £10 as per their terms and conditions. At this point it wasn't worth me getting the phone back although I was sorely tempted. Don't use this firm!!!!!!!!!!!0

I appear to have just been scammed by this lot, apparently the phone I just sent them has developed some heavy scratches.
Just wondering could you report the phone stolen and get the phone blocked making it worthless to themits not worth me getting the phone back at a 10 cost to me.
Really should have read this thread before.0 -
I sooo wished I had read this thread before sending my phone, just got a email offering my £5 when the original quote was £20, and mine too had developed heavy scratches. So I have just sent them an unpolite email so will wait and see what happens......0

But in the meantime I've also just reported them to watchdog!!!!0

I'm sure THAT will put the fear of God into them - not!0
