  • DO NOT USE MOBILEPHONEEXCHANGE.COM!!!! FRAUDULENT COMPANY. THEY DELIBERATLY DAMAGED TWO OF MY PHONES.

I was offered £152 for an A1 condition Iphone 3G 16 gig. It had a perfect screen and was in brand new condition as I had always looked after it with screen protector and cases.

They said it was in poor condition and changed the offer to £102, I refused and luckily got it back by paying various other costs for sighned for letters.

However I also sent them two other virtually brand new smart phones which I had not got on with because when they send you their envelope it says to include any other phones and they will pay you well.

I included a HTC and XDA both costing well over £400 each a couple of years ago.

They said they had damaged screens which they did not have. They offered £4 for one and nothing for the other.

I asked them for them back and it cost me more money.

They had purposely damaged both of the screens with two circular scratches like eyes using probably wire wool on a cotton bud in the near top left hand corner of each screen in the same way.
    How stupid they are.

Martins Money Tips site still supports this corrupt company, I am waiting for a reply from the site before taking this situation further.

My Advice. Do not use MobilePhoneExchange.com
Maybe do not use any company, just sell your kit on Ebay, at least you usually get what you expect when the hammer goes down.

I really hope this message helps others.

I got a quote for my apple iphone for £116 sent the phone away to them and got an email with a re-quote for £26 due to apparent damage that wasnt there when i sent it away the previous day, seems the same case that everyone else is having. Ive sent them and email and have no reply and ive just sat on the phone for 20 minutes with no one wanting to pick up and talk to me. The email said I would be paid the £26 if i did not contact them by thursday but how am I meant to contact them if they wont answer emails or answer phone calls!

My email to them said to accept this email as me declining their offer of £26 as I felt like I was being robbed and that I expected either a decent true value offer for my phone or my phone sent back to me in the orginal state!

Complete rip off merchants DO NOT USE MOBILEPHONEEXCHANGE.CO.UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Definitely agree with the posts here. Avoid this company like the plague. I have sold a number of phones in the past with Mazuma and never had the problems I have had with mobile phone exchange. They tell you your phone is worth x amount and when they receive it tell you it's broken and reduce the amount. My phone was in perfect working order when sent, in fact it was being used up until the day or two before. It was packaged in bubble wrap and then in a padded bag so fail to see how the screen is now not working (their e-mail says screen black or white - not working) I have asked for it back as I am not happy, but having read the T's & C's they will charge £10 for the privilege! They must be making a fortune with this scam!!!
  • wish to god I had looked up this company on reviews before. Sent blackberry (old one) and brand new apple iphone 3GS, in the box, been plugged in to charge but never used as locked, they quoted £240 for both but when they emailed to say they rec the phones they onlyhad the apple and contested that i had ever sent the blackberry. Also said the apple had heavy scratching which is a complete lie, it was only out of the box twice! We demanded they send the phones back and if they didn't locate the blackberry we would complain to management and then to the ombudsmen and we would also sue for theft of property! They told us there were 17 cameras in their warehouses after we told them there was someone there on the take. And we challenged them to review all the tapes from the day our phnes were received (of course they won't). They returned the apple (free of charge - my husband is extremely good at challenging people over the phone) and miraculously located the blackberry that they said they never received! We accepted the price quoted for the blackberry but when the apple was returned it was returned without the box and all the paraphenalia that was sent with it including the untouched and still sealed sim card. We are trying to contact them now. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS COMPANY IF SELLING A PHONE ACTUALLY WORTH A DECENT AMOUNT OF MONEY! it seems they say (after reading all these posts) that all the handsets seem to have heavy scratching. AVOID,AVOID,AVOID.

I really wish I'd found this thread before I posted my brand new & sealed in box, phone to them. They of course didn't give me the value they said they would but I can't be bothered to argue after reading all ^. AVOID! Fonebank are WAY better.

Please don't use this company! I was soft and sent a Samsung Tocco Light to them which they offerd £24 for so I was like yeah sounds good, sent it off and they sent me an email and said it was badly scratched and they could only offer me £6.

I gave them a ring and told them that was a lie as it had a phone cover on, they said they would re-value it and get back to me.

They today have said it was re-valued at £16 so I have taken that but won't be using their company ever again.

    Stay away people

This company is fraudulent do not go near. The price they quote will not be the price they'll give you. Claimed my Tocco lite was 'scratched' yet it wasn't.

Reported this 'outfit' to watchdog, suggest others do likewise. Trying to pretend my phone was 'badly scratched'. Shameful how they have managed to evade the authorities and keep trading.
  • I sent my HTC desire HD fully charged (screen in perfect condition with some normal wear and tear on the body but very minimal) got quoted £181 i usually use mazuma but decided to send to mfx.
the phone had a screen protector on it when sent, i put it in its box seeing as i had it, i then put the boxed phone in a padded envelope and made sure it was secure, sent it special delivery.

after reading all these posts i was concerned that i wasn't going to get the price quoted or worse lol.

MFX received my phone on 19th of may, i got an email today (25th) saying that £181 would be paid into my bank by 5pm. By 4:30pm i checked my account and the quoted money was in there

i haven't experienced any problems with this company
