I had not had a drop - stone cold sober. Might have hurt less if I had been "merry".
It certainly gave me a shock and in future I will go the long way round to get to the car.
DH told me of a friend whose wife fell at the weekend and she fell flat on her face - cracked a tooth and her face is swollen black and blue with a black eye.
At least my bruises are covered and thankfully I did not break anything.
DH is still determined to return to school tomorrrow so turning off now to go iron."This site is addictive!"

I've just finished work for the day! I am not quite sure I am totally struck on this earning a living stuff, it bloody hard work:D. Up at five this morning back at nine stay at home all day, then out at five and just got back. It does have its plus point though, as I am delivering East Europeans to a carrot factory about 30 miles away we can have a little laugh like stalling the bus on level crossings and listening to the howls of fear :rotfl:Ah well I shall get back to pulling the wings off flies and see if I can increase my collection of currants. The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

son has been poorly for nearly a week with a cold, conjunctivitis, and a weekend of vomiting, took him to GP today who says he has an infection and given him antibiotics, all he wanted to eat was some of Mum's homemade soup
so I made a big pot of potato and leek and he ate a bowl full
I've just had goulash for dinner, leftover from yesterday and made in the SC yummyI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Very late post from me today ...
Kiwichick - hugs and commiserations. It took me until my 5th attempt, so don't worry about it at all. As everyone else has said ... the best drivers don't pass first time!
Elona - Ouch ... ok, well done - you made me cringe. Seriously, that sounds horrific, hope you heal quickly
HUGS to everyone else who needs them.
Well, DH went off to France today ... .after a wee hiccup ... he set the alarm for 6 (we don't normally set it, as DD wakes us between 5 and 7) ..... DD woke us at 07:13 ....... DH had set it, but set it on music rather than buzz ... and the volume was down. Which reminds me now to go and turn it all off!
The problem being he had a 3hr drive to the airport and by the time he left he was an hour late ..... he caught the flight though! Phew!
On his way to load the car, he discovered that some eejit had smashed one of the 2 large terracotta plant pots in front of the house. So, guess who did their back in whilst sorting that out ... yep, that'd be me then!
The rest of the day has been spent running around like the proverbial blue botttomed fly ... WM on, DD to nursery, Work commenced, 2 loads hung outside, went to pilates class - where she concentrated on my back problem and now it feels an awful lot better:j
, Post Office visited, back to work, another load of washing done, picked up dd, called in at friend, friend ended up calling in to me for "coffee" (chamomile tea, she's bf'g .... so glad to have found a willing victim for it, I hate the stuff, only bought it to make baby wipe solution!)
Main bed changed, spare bed made up ready for the w/e.
Washing brought back in still damp (ok, that's generous .... wet!)
Secretary role done for DH's business whilst he's away, including invoicing and sales.
Holiday for April booked, then re-booked, when discovered price cheaper elsewhere .... original place matched the price
B - Special K
L - Roast chicken and mayo sandwiches (left over chicken from yesterday!)
D - "bubble 'n' squeak" (mash / roastie / parsnips / sweetcorn / broccoli / carrot / cream)
Snacks - copious amounts of McVities choccie digestives.... yum.
And now it's time for whatever is on on a Monday at 21:00, or if there is nothing, it is time for ER, as I dnlded episode 13 last night
Cor, reading that lot, I've been quite busy!
Oh-oh, MIL just appeared on MSN, time to run ....GC - March 2024 -0 -

Morning
Not a bad night here:D managed to sleep a few hrs. Still have the bad headache and body pains, but have already managed 1ltr of water this morning.
WM on and will be dried hopefully outside, if not on airer. Toilet cleaned. OH emptied DW last night. Floors downstairs need sweeping through and moping today-OH said he will do this. I really want to sort my bathroom cupboard if possible today, but will see how I am later.
Have to make some phonecalls today regarding new credit cards and BT's,, have been offered 4.9% LOB with no fees, so think this will be taken up in next 2 days. Also, have to update my money accounts-which I will do in a minute.
Our HA has organised a company to come and insulate our loft by a further 8". Think he said theres already 4", so 12 in total. Dont know if this is good but sounds it:rolleyes: Hopefully it will make a difference as our Gas is already so high each month by DD. There coming about 10am.
Had a lovely gent pick up a baby steam steriliser from freecycle last night and got rid of 2 other items last week-brilliant.
I have to finish my 1st assignment for my OU course in the next 3 weeks, but have nearly finished so am quite pleased with that. OH has 2 pieces to hand in in 2 weeks, so he's panicking abit...LOL.
Anyways, Im off to make a cup of tea.
Breakie: Bacon Sarnie
Lunch:Baked Spud
Dinner: Chicken Curry & Rice
Have a good day everyone.

Hiya everybody,
Lovely summery day here in sunny Qld with just a gentle cooling breeze.:D
Been to work this morning. Boss not there so we all caught up with the gossip. It's called networking btw. Real Estate is calling in tonight with the contract. Not too sure what the conditions are yet but if all goes through, we will have to get out in 6 weeks. I will not panic, I will not panic, I will not panic.
Having left over potato pie for tea. Just have to boil up some more spuds. Pudding will be icecream & fruit. DD off from work today. Sick, although she looks fine and hearty to me. I hope when I get sick, I get what she's got. Sorry to hear you failed your driving test Kiwi. Not all of us can pass the first time. Like I did. :rotfl:None of my three kids did. I had sooo much fun. How I love to tease.
Hope you all have a happy day. Off to boil the spuds.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Morning
Fairly decent sleep last night - I fell asleep on the sofa at 10.30 and then took myself to bed at about 1 when I woke up. I didnt have any attacks! Yippee! I was quite worried too. Anyway, not much else to report for the day really, ive just noticed that I havent actually had an electric or water bill in all the time ive been here (5 months!!) so Im going to read the meters tonight and find out what they are and call around as that is really going to mess up the budget when they hit the mat so I need to get that sorted pronto. Mentioned to boyf last night about impending utility rises and council tax etc and he said, we will have to economise and not use them so much. Thats what ive been telling him for months so it seems its sinking in!
Not really looking forward to work today as ive got loads of stuff to do still, im looking forward to lunch though as its home made soup and bread again and its quite nice if i do say so myself! Dinner will probably be something from the freezer, or maybe a fish pie or something. Hope you all have a good day!
