Hi All

Like many I am looking for some advice. Got my MFI kitchen delivered in August. Unfortunately 2 doors were missing and some trim was damaged. After a bunch of unwilling to help people I finally got the replacements ordered up. They were to be delivered on 4th Dec.....I imagine this is not going to happen. The kitchen is fitted (with the exception of the missing items).

I am devastated that I am now left with an unfinished kitchen in my first home. I took out MFI Finance with Blackhorse which I am currently paying.

Can anyone please give me some advice on this?

    Many thanks!!
Which kitchen is it you have?
  • You can get them from me....look @ crown-imperial.co.uk
Used em for years and you will get them within two weeks.
    Hope it helps
  • i have the kennington range i am missing the 935 corner x2
  • Ok any advice on my MFi situation?

Ordered our kitchen + fitting back in April from MFi. The kitchen was delivered end of May and fitting started soon after. After many months of problems (wrong worktops etc..) the kitchen was finally completed on 10th October. A couple of weeks later i noticed that there was a leak coming from underneath the sink and that the outside tap that did work prior to fitting no longer works. Because of the balls up with worktops the mfi fitter fitted some temporary tops to tied us over until our actual ordered tops came. There were no leaks and the outside tap did work until he came back to fit original ordered tops and complete the kitchen on the 10th. I rang MFi store and tole them about the leak and tap and was told the fitter will contact me. Anyway since then I have spoke to the fitter (I had to ring him) and because of the administration thing he and MFi wont sort it. Now i purchased this kitchen on the buy now pay next year interest free deal. The interest free period ends January 15th What happens if the problems are still not done by then? Another thing is that we went for the premium fitting service which adds an extra 24 months cover onto our kitchen. Now if MFi are no longer going to honour this should i still have to pay for it? I'm going to ring blackhorse tomorrow and see where i stand on this because I dont want to pay for something that i'm not getting?

    So what are my options?

    cheers

Does anyone know who makes the Faraday home office furniture (and bedroom furniture) for MFI? I may have to source this directly if no delivery.

    Thanks

We cancancelled our kitchen on the 26th November a day before MFI went into administration, and recevied a refund, but as yet have not got the money. Administrators say the accounts are frozen. Did you pay by debit card or credit card?

I would doubt it. You have essentially paid by cheque. If you had paid by debit card, perhaps but I don't think so.

MFI Group Limited (In Administration) (“the Company”)

Phil Duffy, Geoff Bouchier and Paul Clark of MCR were appointed as Joint Administrators (“Administrators”) to MFI Group Limited on the evening of 26 November 2008. All Administrators are licensed by the Insolvency Practitioners Association.

The Administrators are continuing to review the Company’s financial position and operational status. During this time and until further notice, all installation works have been suspended, and no further customer orders are being taken. The MFI stores remain open however for the sale of display stock only.

The affairs, business and property of the Company are being managed by the Administrators, who act as agents of the Company and without personal liability.

    Customers awaiting delivery/installation

Regrettably, whilst the Administrators continue their review of the Company’s position, all installation/delivery services remain suspended.

Scheduled deliveries/installations due up to 7 December 2008

Please note that the Administrators have been unable to make the necessary arrangements to fulfil orders due for delivery or installation between Thursday 27 November and Sunday 7 December 2008. Those orders are therefore now cancelled.

    Payments via credit card

As a consequence, those customers with cancelled orders referred to above who paid by credit card should now be entitled to a refund from their credit card providers. The Administrators are aware that the credit card providers will require proof of purchase and cancellation and are therefore seeking to expedite this matter by liasing directly with the Company’s merchant acquirer and the various credit card providers. The Administrators would therefore ask for your co-operation and allow them to work directly with the credit card companies to facilitate the refunds. It is likely that this will ensure the speediest resolution to this matter.

A further update regarding the progress of credit card payment refunds will be posted on the MFI and MCR websites in the afternoon of Monday 8th December 2008. We would ask that you refrain from contacting the customer call centre during this time as they will be unable to provide you with any update on the progress of refunds.

Payments via cash/cheque or debit card

The Administrators are currently reviewing the position of customers whose orders have been cancelled referred to above and who paid by cash/cheque or debit card. It remains the intention of the Company’s management to see all cash/cheque or debit card depositors whose orders are not fulfilled be refunded. The Administrators are currently reviewing this position to determine whether this will be possible. This is a complicated process involving various stakeholders and therefore the Administrators would ask that you bear with them whilst they seek to facilitate these refunds.

A further update regarding the progress of cash/cheque or debit card refunds will be posted on the MFI and MCR websites in the afternoon of Monday 15th December 2008. We would ask that you refrain from contacting the customer call centre during this time as they will be unable to provide you with any update on the progress of refunds.

Scheduled deliveries due on or after 8 December 2008

Customer orders due for delivery/installation on or after 8 December are still being assessed as to whether or not they can be fulfilled.

Further details regarding the fulfilment of those orders will be posted on the MFI and MCR websites as soon as this information becomes available. It is likely that this will be towards the end of this week.

Customers seeking information on product warranties/guarantees

The Administrators are currently reviewing the position as regards warranties/guarantees and are in contact with the relevant third party providers.

Further details will be posted on the MFI and MCR websites as information becomes available.

Customers seeking information regarding payments made via Blackhorse Finance

The Administrators are currently reviewing the position as regards Blackhorse and are in contact with Blackhorse regarding this situation.

Further details will be posted on the MFI and MCR websites as information becomes available.

    General customer order queries

Please note that customer order queries are not being handled by the stores and that stores are unable to deal with any refund queries.

The most up to date information regarding customer orders will continue to be that posted on the MFI www.mfi.co.uk and MCR www.mcr.uk.com websites.

Whilst the customer services call centres remain operational, please be aware the staff are unable to provide you with any further information regarding the fulfilment of specific orders.

The customer call centre numbers are:

    Weekends - 0870 607 5054 between 9:00AM and 6:00PM.

    Weekdays - 01405 744 813, between 9:00AM and 6:00PM.

Please note that the call centre is experiencing a very high volume of calls and therefore it may not be possible to get through on the first attempt. You may therefore prefer to email your query to customer.services@mfi.co.uk and your email will be responded to as quickly as possible. Again, there is a high volume of emails and therefore it may take several days to provide you with a reply to your email. Due to high volume of enquiries, and the ongoing review of customer orders, it may not be possible to reply regarding your specific order at this time. As soon as the position becomes clarified, customers will be notified by way of update on the MFI and MCR websites.

Alternatively, if you require contacting the Administrators’ office, you can do so by emailing the dedicated email address mfi@mcr.uk.com. One of the Administrators’ team will endeavour to deal with your query as soon as practical. However, we do ask that you bear with us as our office is presently experiencing a high volume of emails.

    Suppliers

All supplier orders including fitters and subcontractors have been suspended and should not be completed/fulfilled without the express authorisation of the Administrators.

All debts owed to suppliers/creditors incurred prior the Administrators appointment will be unsecured claims against the company. The Administrators will be writing to all creditors within the coming weeks however if you wish to lodge your claims now then you can download a Claim Form from the MCR website (go to downloads/publications and follow the link to MFI). All completed forms should be sent to the MCR offices at 43-45 Portman Square, London W1H 6LY. Alternatively, scanned Claim Forms can be emailed to mfi@mcr.uk.com. To assist the Administrators in dealing with the email enquires, please include “Supplier - Claim Form” in the subject line of your email.

Payment will not be made by the Administrators for any supplies/work provided after 26 November 2008 without the prior and express authorisation from the Administrators.

Suppliers queries should be directed to mfi@mcr.uk.com and one of the Administrators staff will endeavour to deal with your enquiry.

The Administrators offices are located at 43-45 Portman Square, London W1H 6LY.
