We stupidly paid by cash over £1000, haven't received goods and all orders have been cancelled, not even sure that we will get any money back. Anyone got any advise on how we deal with this0

I am wondering the same thing. My kitchen doors were scratched during installation. I have a 2 year MFI Furniture warranty underwritten by AIG Insurance and a 1 year manufacturers warranty on the doors. Does anyone know if AIG or The Manufacturers (Hygena) will take over this?
Of course no-one at MFI knows -I feel really sorry for the staff at the moment.0 -
It is a bizarre situation. We ordered a kitchen from MFI three weeks ago, for installation before Christmas, and put it on the Slate account through Black Horse. I suppose that this begs questions in the current climate:
As we have a credit agreement through Black Horse (Signed and agreed), this will record as a credit search on file - if we are not able to proceed through Black Horse, we may need to re-apply for credit, hence showing an extra search on file - not necessarily good in the current climate. Is there a likelihood in anybody's experience that the finance company will allow this to be used elsewhere - is there something in the agreement which allows this - we haven't had the credit agreement returned yet...
Any thoughts...?0 -
no joy with IKEA, plus no matching other drawer units resultantly, Wickes, yet to venture there but never been a fan tbh but will give it another whirl - B&Q undergoing a refit locally...
Do try Wickes, we're having our bedroom fitted by them. They can do 50+40cm units as their frames are individual and so can combine to reach 90cm. They look fab and their wood/MDF seems much better and hardwearing than MFI's (tested already!!)
They also have 40, 50 and 75cm matching drawer units.
We went for the Zurich which is identical to the one of the Schreiber lines in MFI, but we had a hard time deciding as at least 2 others were beautiful as well!0 -
6 weeks ago me and my wife ordered a Kutchen Lab kitchen from MFI that was due to be delivered today. We have paid in full via cheque £14000! God knows how we ended up spending that much as we only planned to spend £5k but the Mrs fell in love with a german display kitchen and before you know it Mr Bank manager had agreed to loan us the extra money we needed.
I have heard direct from Kutchen that our Kitchen was delivered to an MFI storage depot last week but it looks unlikely that it will be released now following todays anouncement that all orders are cancelled.
Is their anything else i can today as im so worried? I dont have any kitchen as mine was ripped out last week.0 -
I think it's very unlikely MFI will be able to fulfill any existing orders/installations. I'm sure other fitters will agree, most of us are outstanding a lot of fit payments and wont carry out any further installations without being settled for outstanding work completed. And if delivery companies are not paid either, v unlikely your kitchen/bedroom/bathroom will be delivered. As a customer, I would be claiming your money back.
i sympathise with customers who have outstanding work. Please contact us with your queries if in the Central Scotland area and we will do our best to help at the cheapest possible cost to you.
We can still supply and fit bathrooms and kitchens before Christmas. If you have your MFI invoice and details, we can price match or beat MFI prices. Please contact Scott on 077304104200 -
Cant believe this is happening...just getting over the shock not to mention hassle from wrapit when they pulled the plug in august and now this.In october I ordered my sons bedroom furniture from mfi but foolishly held delivery until 19th dec as it was his xmas present.Paid for by debit card.Do I now have to wait to hear if a refund or delivery is possible? I would rather a refund so I could get him new furniture elsewhere that he will have for xmas and would also be worried incase it arrived damaged.0

This is my first post so please be gentle. My bedroom order was due to be delivered tommorow so after reading the statement on the administrators website, i called my credit card provider to apply for a refund. They told me i couldn't apply until the company had actually closed. Which means when every store has sold off all ex-display stuff and actually shut all together. Seems a tad harsh to me!0

Is your kitchen from their German Kutchen range?0

We asked for a refund in store on the 26th of November for £7800. The transaction has been put through the tills on our debit card on the 26th Nov and we have a reciept to say we have a refund. It has not reached our account yet. We are concerned that it will not reach our bank account.
Can anyone clarify if we will recieve it.?
HAs anyone else had a refund in store and had it credited to their acount~?
