The letter is from Kroll the administrators. No it doesnt say pay at this date more if you pay within 10days we will give you 10% discount. My argument is i have a faulty kitchen which im now looking to have to pay interest on top.
I havent spoke to the actual administartor yet, this is booked in monday 9am. So i will post what happens0 -
...anyone know if there is a firm out there who happens to produce copycat/similar Schreiber furniture at all? MFI actually own the Schreiber and other in-store "premium branded" manufacturing of the stuff that they peddle...makes the price matching offer that they also peddle as a total waste of time too!
If so...I'm keen to spend money on it - this 90cm unit width size thing is a real issue for me, major headache...
...and those who have been offered this 10% discount thing, try offering a smaller ammount indicating it is all you can afford at present as it was totally unexpected...say 70-75% perhaps!Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0 -
Back in July 2008, I went to my local MFI store to order a kitchen. To get a further discount, the sales advisor suggested that I take out a Slate Account with Black Horse which I did do for just over £5000. So I didn't pay any interest, I paid the finance off by cheque in September 2008 plus the settlement figure which was about £88. Eventually the kitchen arrived but there were bits missing and some faulty bits. There was a delay in getting a fitter so I decided to cancel the kitchen. This was eventually picked up on 11th November and I have been waiting for a refund ever since. Faxes and letters to MFI and Black Horse haven't done anything. I've been to the store but no joy. As I have paid the finance off in full, can I now claim the money back from Black Horse now that MFI have got the administrators in? Is the Section 75 letter appropriate in my case? Due to the delay, I have had to buy a kitchen from elsewhere but to do this, I have had to borrow money from family and transferred some money from my credit card to my bank account which of course is costing me lots in interest. I am in more debt now because of this. Can you give me some advice please?0

Have you tried howdens? they have same/simlar units to MFI. The only problem with them is you need to have a trade account0 -

Also do not start fitting your kitchen as you have not had it complete as what you ordered you can still claim off the credit card.
Does that mean if you paid for one item at under £100 you are not covered by your credit card company?
What happened to me was one of the doors were too small and realised this after fitting. So i went into the store and ordered an extra door for under £100 as one purchase. Will I be covered? Am i entitled to a refund?0 -

I'd have thought there would be a fair chance that the administrator will be able to sell Schreiber ... if you can wait, that is.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
I paid for a 3,500 kitchen on Nov 14th by Egg Visa and was expecting delivery on 12th Dec
Anybody know if I can go for a refund now or if I have to wait until its not delivered? Or if it is delivered what happens if bits are missing? Can I refuse the delivery?
Also if I pay off my Visa am I still covered, as I was going to do a balance transfer to a 0% one?
Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks0
