Scheiber is only a brand name and not a manufacturing unit, Howdens and MFI were at one stage manufacturing under the same roof, so it is always worth looking at the product ranges offered in Howden's

MFI's ethos for some time is to buy in!

At some stage the stock already in the MFI buildings will have to be cleared, shame they can not move it into the right direction for the people who actually want it for a change!

all the people saying some items on the bill are under £100 will this be covered section 75 which martin has done on the main site which people SHOULD read completely explains ALOT.

basically if the TOTAL bill is over £100 even if you only paid £1 on a credit card the credit card company IS libel for the LOT end of story now go have a read properly.:mad:

What style of MFI units were you looking for? Howdens no longer do bedroom furniture, kitchens only so no point looking there. If you let us know what area of the country you are in and the style we will try and help you. I believe much of the MFI furniture was made by Furniture Factory whose head office was in Glastonbury, Somerset. But they have also gone into administration, but it could be worth contacting them as they presumably will be selling off any stock that they have and surely someone will take them over.

We were working as a fitter for MFI when they pulled the plug leaving us with over £3k outstanding with no work coming in. Earlier this year they asked us to keep our diaries free and drop everyone else....... with the promise of lots of work. Now look what has happened......... We are not alone, I am sure that there are many others even worse off.

For any customers in the South West still requiring a bedroom or kitchen, maybe we can be of help or point you in the direction of other local fitters.

I'm looking for the Camden range of Wardrobes. If anyone knows where I can get similar wardrobes I'd be really grateful?

I went into my local MFI yesterday in the hope of getting something in the sale but nearly everything already had a SOLD sticker on it. I think Staff and their friends and family had first choice (which is fair enough given the circumstances) And all that was left were a pile of sinks, odd wardrobe doors, kitchen cupboard doors and a few taps in the middle of what is now a very big empty hanger.

I spoke to one of the staff on Friday who had said optimistically that he thought the store would be open for a few weeks but I think this store will definitely be shut from tomorrow by the look of things.

I've had my letter from administrators and still live in hope that they might get orders out if possible this week? If anyone gets a delivery please let us all know asap.

Thanks guys! Good luck to all those waiting for orders or hoping to get a refund. And more importantly my thoughts are with all MFI staff. Here's hoping the administrators can save jobs if possible.

For my sins I have 80% of an MFI kitchen already fitted, and was waiting for delivery of the rest last Friday. According to the administrators website http://www.mcr.uk.com/News.aspx?articleID=76 anyone waiting for deliveries upto 7th December is out of luck and their orders are now cancelled. Their comments regarding refunds are not looking promising either, I quote "
As a consequence, those customers who paid by credit card should now contact their credit card providers directly in order to seek a refund.
Those customers who paid by cash, debit card or cheque will be contacted shortly, to advise them as to the status of any possible refund."

Anyway onto the swopshop route .......... I am looking for the following:

P.S. Howdens do supply very similar kitchens to MFI, so they might be worth a try if you are missing bits, although their 'Gledevon Cream' is a slightly different shade to MFI Space Cream.

Customers awaiting delivery/installation

Regrettably, whilst the Administrators continue their review of the company’s position, all installation/delivery services remain suspended.

Scheduled deliveries due up to 7 December 2008

Please note that the Administrators have been unable to make the necessary arrangements to fulfil orders due for delivery or installation between Thursday 27 November and Sunday 7 December 2008. Those orders are therefore now cancelled.

As a consequence, those customers who paid by credit card should now contact their credit card providers directly in order to seek a refund.

Those customers who paid by cash, debit card or cheque will be contacted shortly, to advise them as to the status of any possible refund.

Scheduled deliveries due on or after 8 December 2008

Customer orders due for delivery/installation on or after 8 December are still being assessed as to whether or not they can be fulfilled.

Further details regarding the fulfilment of those orders will be posted on the MFI and MCR websites as soon as this information becomes available.
