    Bloody Sky.

We were miffed to say the least by a 100% price increase (we're making all sorts of cuts at the moment...getting married in Vegas in Nov:D ) .

We didn't want Sky's phone so we felt no option but to cancel our broadband with them. I'm on an Orange anyway so we've gone over to them 15 minutes ago.

Just for anyone's information, Sky have been dragging their feet since Saturday. They gave us a false MAC code on Saturday & after phoning them & Orange twice on Sat, once on Sun, twice on Tues, three times last night & twice tonight, we eventually got the MAC code to work.

Sky told us that we've only got 30 days to use the MAC code, otherwise we'd have to ask again. After phoning Sky (& Orange to switch) 10 odd times, with SKY repeatedly reading back that same bloody code to us, they gave us another code, almost exactly the same bar the last couple of digits . Surprise, surprise, it worked.

I spoke to Orange tonight & they told me to be firm as SKY ARE able to give out a code over the phone. I phoned a rude woman back who told me she was "not p!$$ing around'! She reluctantly gave us the code which eventually worked.

I've just read what I have written & I realise I've waffled there, so I will sum up what I am trying to say:
    • Sky drag their feet when you want to switch broadband operator. This will be by
      • (a) denying that you can be given a code over the phone
      • (b) telling you they will text it and/or email it to you (they did neither)
      • (c) giving you a code that doesn't work & hope you get fed up and not bother switching.
They did all 3 with us.

Be very firm with them as they are able to give you a MAC code over the phone as proved by our calls on Saturday (dodgy code) & tonight (new code (!?!) at 21:30 tonight).

Wadia if you think skybroadband mac problem is a big deal, "STOP THE TRANSFER TO ORANGE RIGHT NOW." They are much worse once they got you on their system!!!
