I thought if you are on base and take the sky talk freetime, it will still be free. Have I got it wrong?0

Thanks, in that case, may be I will be £5 better off since sky wants to downgrade me to base from mid after my complaint. as I am a light user. I will just subscribe to sky talk freetime and get it free. It will be to my advantage but I seem to be reluctant to go sky for calls although I will use only 18185. Does anybody know how easy it is to go back to bt for your calls if you are not happy with sky? I will definitely keep my bt line. Guess, will have to make a decision in February!! Thanks0

Does using 18185 cost you a nominal fee for each call. I havent ever used this. I have Free Broadband and Sky talk with my package, make very few calls during the day (my last month call bill was less than 50p) I do pay BT for my line.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
anniehanlon, I take it you have sky talk freetime. I use 18185 for all my calls, it has a 5p connection for uk calls and I am not restricted to 1 hr. I use it for international calls e.g france, singapore and it costs me only 1p per min + 5p connection fee. It will be also be cheaper since you cannot use 1280 to route to bt than sky. I make 6 calls through bt per quarter to qualilfy for the caller display but this will have to be cancelled if I go with sky talk. Pl do check their website www.18185.co.uk. It has saved me loads esp ringing dr's surgery when you are put on hold for a long time.0

Sky dont have to offer indirect access to 18185 if you move your line rental to them, only BT are required to do this.0

thanks for that, i dont make international calls and any o845 numbers i can
usually find on sayno to 0870. Some i cant so just put up with it. These are cheaper if your line is with BT apparently which is why im reluctant to go to sky for my line rental.
Our doctor doesnt have an 0845 number but i think its outrageous that this sort of thing is income generated, this also goes for police and a lot of governemt departments. We ought to have a riot!!!!!make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I have Sky TV, just the basic package with 2 mixes and have the 2meg broadband, currently pay £18 / month. I don't make any day time calls as I'm at work and even when I'm not I just use my mobile for peak time calls. A I'm paying £10.50 for BT line rental, surely it's worth me switching to Sky Talk, the free package (as i don't need free anytime calls) and also switching over my phone line rental at the same time as they're doing this half price offer for 6 months so it would only cost £5/month for 6 months, then rising to £10/month. A decent size saving compared to sticking iwth BT where I'm paying £10.50.
Anyone had any problems switching line rental from BT to Sky, Sky do the admin as far as I';m away so i just have to call them up and ask to sign them, they'll get in touch with BT and everything is fine.
Anyone got any comments!

I got sky talk when I wanted broadband as it was free. I was with Talk Talk before. I had no probs and got the 6mths for half price. The other week I was having probs with reception on my tv, so called them, (eventually got them to send engineer for free who changed my box,) I also mentioned their price increase and said I was paying more for having their phone than Talk Talk and didn't know what to do. Off man went came back said free line rental for year is that ok. I thanked him for his help and did a big YAHOOOOO when put phone down. As if I was gonna say no to saving £120.00. I think they will give this to most people just to get them to change to sky talk.0
