Hi Garetha

I've used both e2save and carphone warehouse each twice and a friend has also used carphone warehouse with no problems.

I did a search on here for 'e2save' titled threads
183 threads - many 'angry' ones
e.g.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=324544

So perhaps the Carphone Warehouse group (includes e2save) are not as good as they were?
or maybe all of them make it so hard to claim in order to stay afloat!

I suppose a company is only really good until you have a problem with them. All I can say that I've never ahd any bother with CPW or E2Save. I know that E2Save enclose a leaflet with info on how to claim which atleast gives you start.
My current contract is with 3 and when I phoned to cancel at the end of my 12 month contract they offered 8 months cashback to be credited directly to my account. As this was paid automatically I accepted, atleast I now now that the money will be paid.

Hi

I came home yesterday to find a cheque from P2U - the letter worked! I would advise all of you to persue your claims - they do pay in the end, just need alot of pushing and chasing!

Abeezar - I doubt you would have much of a case if you took the legal route....what was your date of connection and when was your first bill issued? You should check that you did send the bills early, although I'm not sure how this can happen as you have 14 days from bill dates to get claims in to them. Post here or pm me and we can work it out.

Garetha - I've only used mobileshop previously. The would send a txt and e-mail to say that the claim had been received and when payment would be sent out. They were late (by two weeks) once but no real problems. To be honest, I think they all make it difficult but as long as you follow the T&C's completely, you shouldn't have a problem. Also go with a company that is established and therefore unlikely to be liquidated in the near future.....good luck!

Rgds, Fabs.
• I am waiting for my second installment that I sent via special delivery in mid October. My 1st installment was sent mid-July and not received until the beginning of October (around 80 days). I have e-mailed several times threatening legal action but each of my e-mails have been ignored.

I had intended to use the web service to issue a small claim but now realise that both parties have to be resident in England & Wales (I am based in Scotland). This makes the traditional small claims approach my only alternative and less attractive to me. Does anyone have a number for the Managing Director or other senior employee? Frankly, I think I am likely to be paid anyway but just don't like being ignored and being deliberately paid late.

As with others experience - DO NOT USE PHONES2UDIRECT
• Got my 1st cash back today. i followed their T&Cs (V 3.1) to the letter. i seem to of had no trouble apart from them waiting till the very last minute which meant i had sent my 2nd letter giving my intention to go to small claims. but because of the dates im not sure if that was the final push for them.
in my letter i told them the dates that would apply to me under their T&Cs & when i would expect payment by.
if anyone is unsure of the sort of letter to send with the other bits (as per your own version of T&Cs that apply) & would like a copy to give them rough idea, just pm me.

cheers paul

I've had to sit down to recover from the shock this morning!
Phones2U have sent me the final cheque before it was due.:j
Previous claims were up to 3 months after a claim - this one is inside 1 month.
I claimed just before Christmas - sent it 'Royal Mail signed for' (cost £1)
Waited until the tracking showed a delivery - then sent the following email to cashbacks@phones2udirect.co.uk
Dear Phones 2 U
reference: ####
I note that my final claim for £120 cashback was recieved by you on 27
December 2006
The Royal Mail records show:
#### was delivered from our SEVENOAKS (RURAL) Delivery Office on
27/12/06
and it was signed for by at 9.30 am on the same day by A Bunce
My prevoius claims have taken 3 months before settlement. Your terms and
conditions state that you will deal within 28 days.
I look forward to a cheque by the end of this month - i.e. by Wednesday 31
January 2007 - otherwise I will take legal steps to enforce my claim and
pass on to you my costs for doing so.
Thank you

So they have paid the full amount over the twelve months - but the cost of anxiety at each of the 3 claims cannot be measured. I don't think I would use them again - or recommend them to anyone.
• Hi Garetha,

Really confused...I bought my phone in June. and Sent my bills off on 18th Dec for cashback. My first bill was 1st July to 1st of Dec and these are th bills that i sent them on teh 18th.

Have i messed up here? And how do i send the subsequent bills. In March When i have received Jan, Feb and March?

If they refuse to pay i was thinking of taking them to court on the basis of unreasonable behaviour.

Please please please please help!!! As you can see from the username am jobless and penniless!!!!

get a calendar & count 180 days (just under 6 months) from the date of connection. then send immediately the 1st bill received after the 180th day. best to send special delivery (£4.10) as recorded can go missing, then you've lost the original & all chance of cash back. check the T&Cs & send everything they ask for in the version that applies at the time you purchased.
• Can anyone confirm what exactly the 'original purchase invoice' is that we need to send in with our first claim? I've got a scrappy bit of paper from Phones2UDirect that arrived with my phone - is that it? Also, do they return it to us as I assume they will want it sending in with subsequent claims?

My first claim is 6th February, so I'm getting nervous!!!!!

Many thanks!
