I use a mooncup- mine goes in the dishwasher to kill any bugs at the end of my cycle, after I have washed it through.

:rotfl: I think she meant the books!! Don't think I'd fancy a second hand mooncup either!
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right
  • I tried Mooncup and had an utterly traumatic experience. Admittedly it was largely my own fault as I though 'I will trim the stalk before I try it' BAD, BAD, BAD move. I was scrabbling around 'up there' for ages and had flashes of 'Oh sh*t, A&E and my OHs dad works at that hospital' going round my head. Managed to retrieve it but as I have quite long nails it wasn't ideal (use your own imagination)

I will be sticking to my towels and tampons I think - am still traumatised from the experience

To people thinking of trying mooncup - the moral is - cut your nails and not the stalk when you first try it.

my DD (16) started age 12, I'd given her some ST to carry with her (can't remember which but slim type)
she had one period and wanted to try tampons, all her pals use them and she had no problems.

I don't know - some of the other things that go in our dishwasher make me gag more than the thought of that!
