website says october 20th is wen the £1 itemised billing will start! so i take it we can cancel after the 20th of october?
No, Three just keep moving the date back - the itemised billing charge doesn't actually ever come into force. No-one's sure as to why they are doing this, but they obviously have their reasons.0 -
i have read it thanks but with all the !!!!!ing it's hard to understand!
I can understand your frustration - basically, i noticed that Three were introducing itemised billing charges through the Price Guide on their website. A lot of us thought that this would be grounds to cancel, but, the date set for the introduction of the £1 charge for billing keeps being moved back, for example, it was set for 31st July, however, on 1st August, the date in the Price Guide was changed, so now the date is 20th October, and will likely be moved back again, so the charge actually doesn't ever come into force. So we don't need to worry about the charge because it'll never be implemented, unless Three decide to take the plunge, in which case, they will contact us via text or letter. Hope this explains things a bit better.0 -
So with this non-directdebit charge going up from £3 to £4 a month, I could cancel if I wasn't paying by direct debit? (Or stopped my DD
)

Hello all,
I am new here so bear with me. I have read all this thread but still a little confused.
Today I received a letter from Three saying that I will now need to pay £1 per month to keep my itemised billing. I called them and they said the change will take place on the 20th Oct.
Now I argued this point based on what I know from here and past experience, so I said that I wish to give notice to cancel my contract without penalty. She said this couldn't happen, I even spoke to a manager and he said as we are giving you the option of e-bills, you cannot cancel. I told him that e-bills are no good for me and I'm not paying the extra £1.... We are now at a standstill!
Where do I legally stand? I thought I could give notice to cancel as they are braking my contract by taking away the itemised billing. Why should I have to pay extra to get what I was sold in the first place!
Any comments would greatly help :-)

Write in giving your notice, make clear the condition you are using to terminate from the ts + cs, and make clear you wish to terminate without penalty.
Then see what they say.0 -

Aaron.
hurrah! they are notifying peoplethat's great news, hopefully they will send me a letter soon too, or maybe it's on its way to me already - providing they're contacting all customers and not just those on specific plans. Aaron - stick with your guns, you have a right to cancel your contract because it's a detrimental change.

I got the letter on the 5th August, cancelled mycontract with them yesterday as a result. I emailed them through My3 and sent them a recorded delivery letter with the following.
Dear Sir/Madam
Mobile Number: ***** ******
Account Number: **********
Following the recent changes to your call charges as per your letter dated 5th August 2008, as these changes are of detriment to me I am writing to give you thirty days notice to cancel my contract, as set out in my contract in parts 4, 4.1b(ii) and 10.1(d)
Please can you confirm as soon as possible that the contract will be cancelled after thirty days. I understand from the contract that no additional charges will be made for cancelling the contract.
Thank you for your past service.
Kind regards,
MoscowFlyer
They called me yesterday saying that as I don't use all my inclusive minutes it won't affect me, but I still pressed ahead and cancelled. The first date they could cancel my contract is 22nd September. My contract was due to run out next May.0 -
This is great news! Thank you all for this information. I will be sending this letter Monday! I was promised a call back from someone else (at Three) about this issue but surprise surprise, they didn't call me back, maybe it's because they know full well I was right in what I said. They were making me doubt myself anyway!
Many thanks for this once again!
By the way.... MoscowFlyer, what address did you send the letter too?0 -
