Virgin Media Retention thread

After the last post I have, since called retentions and explained the upload speed on o2 is faster, and could they do 50mb cheaper, they wouldnt budge. I mean would it be so hard in offering an existing customer cheaper compared to new customers. I mean if i took 50mb and xl telephone, then it would still only be £4 cheaper.
I have now called up to cancel and they have gone through with it. And will be disconnected next monthI dont really want to leave, will they ring back to offer me a better deal?

They phoned me once and did not make a decent offer. I was on 2MB for £10 which went to £18. They wanted me to have the Small service for £15!0 -

Have you powered the modem off and on? I think you have to do this. I was getting about 5mb until I powered off and on. Then it went to 10mb. Good Luck.

Ring VM as suggested. I did not have to turn modem off/on. The day after requesting the upgrade I checked the speed at 9.8 mb and is pretty consistent at around that.0 -

I've phoned 3 times trying every trick in the book and still only managed to get 7 quid off my monthly bill to resign another 12 months.
