It is up to the merchant when the cashback disappears so Quidco will not know. My BT line is being installed on Tuesday so I hope it is still there too!

I think you have got to go already armed with prices from another provider. I did this recently as my bill had increased by about £5 with price increases and discount reduction. I told them Sky had quoted me less for the same services. Their reaction was "ok let's see what we can do for you".
    I get:

    XL Phone with caller display
    XL TV with V+ Box
    L Broadband

CS offered me £45, which I'm really happy with.

    Hi!
Do you already have the V+ box? If not is the installation free as well? (I've already got a similar package by V+ would be useful.)
    Thanks

    Hi Kevin

I already had a V+ box which the lady in retentions said I would have to pay a £75 installation fee for. I asked why as it was already installed, and she said she would waive it for me.

I was paying £54.80 for the following:

    Broadband XL
    TV XL
    Line Rental
    Evenings & Weekend tariff

Called the Retentions team and said I was thinking of going to Sky as Virgin Media was too expensive and I wanted the Sky+ Box.

The girl said, "no problem - we'll see what we can do for you" and offered me the following:

Broadband M (I downgraded cos the faster BB didn't impress me)
    TV XL
    Line Rental

£39.00 per month and a one off payment of £49.00 for the V+ box.

This is much better than the deal I was offered a couple of weeks previously - they wanted £99 for the V+ box and wouldn't budge.
I think the Retention staff must have been told to offer it cheaper now that Sky are offering theirs free to new customers.

If anyones thinking of upgrading their broadband - I found that downloading from iTunes was quicker - 20mins for a tv episode instead of 40mins. Other than that, I didn't notice any difference and did not feel that it was worth the extra expense.

Hi there just wondering if anyone can just give me a bit of advice. I am currentley with vm and i have just the 10meg broadband on its own so no line rental, I am paying£25 a month but with billing it comes to £30 a month i think its way too much just for the internet and thinking is it worth giving them a ring. Thanks for your help.

yes give them a ring, say you are thinking about leaving and want to know the best offer, any offer should be less than that.

What do you mean "with billing it comes to £30"

What are they charging you the extra £5 for?

I'm currently on M BB + L TV and paying the typical £25/month for the bundle, for the last 13 months.

I don't want to pay more for the BB, so this £2 for L BB increase ticked me off (plus I still didn't get the upgrade yet). But my wife would be interested in upgrading to XL TV. I wouldn't mind either, if it was just a pound or two extra per month. V+ box wouldn't be bad either, but not for £5/month, that is a waste of good money just to use something that records stuff.

An extra V box would be a plus, but that would probably mean the engineers would need to put their "plugs" on 3 floors (as the PC would be in the attic, with the modem and router, plus 1 TV on the other two floors).

I also paid for my own router, do you think I can play with that to get a better deal?

Also, I'm actually moving in one month. Now, given that I don't want to be without either TV or BB in my new flat when I move, how should I play my cards?

Thank you for all your moneysaving advices in advance. :T

I'd guess at not paying by direct debit.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
