I think people have been offered 2MB service for £10 but the download limits are really restrictive.

And yes, if you cancel with VM you can't rejoin for at least 3 months they say.

My bill has increased by £2.50/month this month !!

£2 increase on 2Mb Broadband (size M), £0.25 on itemised billing (now renamed paperless billing under a Green agenda to justify) & £0.25 increase on a telephone option.

I never received any notification of price increases.
Phoned VM they said they sent out separate letteer in April.

Did VM send out information in a separate letter or in previous bill on price increases ??

    Very annoying.

If you are signed up for eBilling they sent out a separate email in March / April, if you weren't signed up for eBilling, they sent out separate letters in March / April.

I received mine via email at the end of March.

    Hi all,

My current deal with Virgin was due to expire July 24th; it was a re-negotiated package of M phone (didn't want it, don't care, but deal gets mysteriously cheaper when you add it), XL BB, L TV for £44.80/month (£13.50 negotiated "loyalty discount" included).

We're moving house next week and I thought it might be an opportunity drop them before the deal expired and go with O2+Sky or so, but the hassle of sorting it out was offputting and when Virgin said they'd reinstall at the new house for free, extend contract for 12 months and keep the loyalty discount, I said yes for an easy life.

Quite pleased they were willing to extend it though, had heard they weren't being very keen to. Should I have pushed harder?

B service is not sold publically anymore. It used more as a last throw of the dice by VM to get people to stay if they want basic no frills BB service. It was a deal from retentions and it is the S(mall) service.

hi peeps just to update rang up customer retentions and ONLY got offered 14 pounds mth for the basic very small 2MB services

I mentioned the 10 pounds deal and they had no recollection of this- its a bit poor as i hav been with then 10 years and even with the loyalty discount 14 pounds with the lowest price

    any suggestions welcome
    cheers

careful though......we apparently would have lost our £20 loyalty bonus when I enquired about changing address...we would have to start a new account & contract from fresh at the new place

a heated debate with retentions & thankfully we still get our old deal in the new place we moved to

No the retentions guy did not mention anything about the usage limits, but being a MSE'er I was aware of what the 2MB S(mall) package would deliver and had seen the STM policy you linked to. This is about the norm for VM retention reps, they will often leave out the caveats unless you ask them flat out, and even then sometimes they will not tell you.

downgrade to the 10 pound 2MB service hi saeed im trying to downgrade to the 10 pound 2MB service but retentions wont offer anything lower than 14 pounds despite the fact that i have been with them for 10 years?

any suggetions how i can get the same deal you are on as retentions claim it isnt possible to get it for 10 pounds

I just accepted the £10/month VM BB-only (cable) deal

Following my earlier cancellation, VM customer relations called me back tonight and offered me £15/month. I negotiated them down to £10/month (for 6 months) which I accepted. After 6 months I can re-negotiate again.

So my advice is cancel and then let them call you.

Do not cancel and let them ring you. I rang and i said i rang in yesterday and the nice lady yesterday offered me £10 deal and shes said i can accept it today. (Just make it up) and they will say ok and move you to the £10 deal. If they say the £10 deal dont exist say you want to speak to the manager or supervisor and make the story up of the £10 deal again. If it still doesnt work hang up and do it again. Guaranteed to work... I still canceled my BB as £10 is not good enough for S BB.
