I am currently on
XL BB
M Phone
for £32/m
they offered me a £1 discount if I went to paperless bills.
If I upgrade to XXL BB & M Phone it would cost me £46/m, plus they want £80 for router, activation and install. (funny that, as new customers are getting the router free - not that I need it)
If this is what about 10 years of loyalty gets me, I think it's time a went with a new provider
I'm on the same and called yesterday - would only offer it to me for £31 when I'm paying £32 now. All they could offer me was 10mb instead of 20mb for £25 a month which is what new customers get anyway.
So I called again and said I didn't get a satisfactory offer and wanted to know about the cancellations process. This is after loads of rubbish about how bad my connection would be if I went with BT and how I'd have to pay a really expensive connection charge. Even though I told them I could get it for under £20 with talktalk or o2.
The "deal" I ended up accepting was L 10mb Broadband and M Phone for £20.95 a month - I'm not too bothered about going down to 10mb and I wouldn't get that fast with a BT line but if it wasn't so complicated to get BT I would have just cancelled due to their rude and unhelpful staff and awful retention deals.0 -
Is it actually possible to get a deal with these people? We have been with them for almost a year (TV, broadband and phone for £20) and are trying to get a discount on that amount for staying... but no joy so far! Hi All,
Just thought I'd post to let you know about the deal I signed up for last night with VM.
I was on XL TV with V+ and an additional box, L broadband and L phone for £46 per month, and managed to get the VIP package for £80.20 per month with a wireless 'N' router for £25. Basically it's the advertised package less 'Talk International' and 'Talk Mobile' - don't use the phone for anything other than inclusive calls anyway so no great loss.
Anyone managed to get any better? I had a feeling they might have been holding out on me in terms of a better deal!
Thanks.0 -
Been with Virgin for around 5 years now, BB only.
Managed to negotiate a deal where I paid £10 a month instead of £18, but that has just come to an end.
What are the chances of being able to negotiate a similar deal again?
I think £18 is way too expensive for BB!!!!!!I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.Mae West

yep virgin media have only given me £25 for M phoneline, L broadband and the basic tv package... No router but free installation.... That is worse than new customers get....
Also heard it is 90 days before u can take an account with them again after cancelling.....
Am tempted to move on to another company....0 -

Based on my recent negotiations, the answer is 'slim'!
They seem determined to scratch out any discounts anyone might be getting.
No doubt some slimy jumped-up twerp has looked at the books and decreed that easy money is to be made if all customers paid the list price.0 -

It will backfire if everyone leaves though... like I did.
Now getting 6 meg with O2 and its costing me £18 a month after cashback... could of been 20meg if my exchange was closer. Plus that got me a free wireless router too.
As long as you can get a BT line (free installation deal) and live a reasonable distance to get good speed then its the way forward away from the robbing b@stards at VM.0 -
I currently have 8mb broadband with free evening and weekend phone calls that is costing me £14.99 per month, but was looking to get a better deal elsewhere preferably with line rental included.
Phoned Virgin to get my MAC Code and when I told them the reason why I needed it, I was told that the Virgin packages were under review and a new package was due to be launched at the end of June. In the meantime, they would reduce my package to £5 per month for the next 2 months.
Worth taking the saving of £20 and I can then see if any of the new packages are suitable.
Hope this is of help.0 -
My retention deal ran out a couple of months ago I have been all I have is 2meg BB (soon to be 10) which I have been getting for £10 a month as long as I remember.
Rang up to get the deal renewed and it was sorted.
Got my bill last month and  been charged the full £17! (Soon to be £19 with the £2 increase) (£1 paperless discount WOO!)
Rang to query this and got told (by some grumpy bloke) the deal hadn't been put through properly and the deal doesnt exist any more and there weren't any deals its either £20 for M or £15 for S.
I ranted a bit got angry a bit and enquired about the leaving process then said I would ring after I had sorted a new BB provider.
I stewed for 2 hours like you do
Then rang back and got a lovely lady on the other end who said yes we can do you a £7 a month discount for 6 months so with your paperless discount means you will be paying £12 a month for the M package.
So really its a case of being persistant :rolleyes:0 -
Does anyone know when Quidco £50 cashback on O2 will end? Does Quidco usually provide such information in advance on its website or the cashback just disappear suddenly? Sorry I am new to cashback so not too sure how it works. I want to sign up for the cashback but still waiting for BT line installation.0
