Virgin Media Retention thread

Just called VM and gave them my 30 day notice. I noticed my latest bill hiked from the £25/Month I was paying for 152Mbps and Phone M to £38/Month (that's including a £10 loyalty discount that will run out in October so it'll be £48 after that!)
The trouble this time is I can't really threaten to go elsewhere as no one else provides 152Mbps broadband. The closest is BT or Sky at 76Mbps!
Has my luck run out this time round?0 -

76Meg is fast
Not anywhere near 152Mbps and the estimated speeds only show me as receiving 58Mbps at best so I'd say I'd only get 50Mbps if I'm lucky!
Just had my call, had to settle for £34/Month for 152Mbps. Managed to get an additional £40 off for the year by paying my line rental off in full. Tried to get TV thrown in for free but they weren't having any of it for less than £43/Month and that would have just been basic TV.
Oh well... I guess austerity includes growing bills too!0 -
Hello ! i rang up Virgin yesterday and i was wondering when Retentions usually ring back? i dont want to goto sky but they do have some good offers on at the moment.

My £34 incl line rental for big kahuna is such good value. I hope theres not a huge hike when the 12 year contract ends.0

Currently paying 26.50/month for 50mb broadband, with no phone line. Am I likely to get anything much better than that (faster/cheaper)? It doesn't seem to be much more than they're offering to new subscribers, if I'm reading the website correctly. I don't mind doing the call to cancel routine etc, but if I'm only going to save a quid/month, it's probably not worth the hassle.0

Spoke to retentions a few days ago and accepted a new 12 month contract for 50mb broadband (no line rental) - new price £13.50 per month.0 -
I phoned VM and said I was thinking of leaving and accepted the following:
Talk Weekends
Fully Itemised Billing
TV Size M+
1 Additional V Box
V HD Monthly Fee
TiVo Monthly Fee
Broadband Size: L (Up To 50mb) £36.50
Loyalty Customer discount 16.00
£26.50
This does not include line rental which I paid on line rental saver £164 for 12 months.
I have been with VM for over 15 years and they have always agreed a cheaper deal without the need for me to give notice to disconnect. If I don't get a decent offer the first time I just say I will think about it and then call back and speak to someone else the next day0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
