I wanted broadband only as I moved the TV over to sky on a 12 month half price deal. Finally came out with 30mb broadband, phone line and m pack Tv for the bedroom (v+ HD box with HD turned on, however with no record facility), for £19.49 per month. Fairly happy with that. whilst I dont really need a land line, its always good to have it there, just in case

These emails started going out to everyone today - £2.50 a month increase, they will keep your discounts, but the base price will rise...

Had to pay for BT Sport somehow!

Its the same increase on the three people I know locally with different speeds and now one on here (not sure on connection speed).

EVERYONE should make sure any retention deals from today onwards take account of this increase.

Its a pretty major increase in price, around 10%...

I have been with Virgin for the past six years, dipping in and out with Sky Sports depending on the season and the games shown.

    I have
    XL TV
M Telephone with paid a year in advance as much cheaper
    Caller Display
    60MB Broadband
    1TB TiVo
    Extra HD Box

My Monthly bill is £50.25 (obviously not including the telephone).

I am going to dip back in the Sky Sports and wonder if I should try to negotiate the subscription or am I getting an extra good deal, or not!

    I Have

    L TV (v+ box)
L phone (talk eve & weekend)
    20 mb broadband
    Call rejection,call display
Bundle price is £44.95 minus loyalty discount ? £12
Total is £47.94 inclusive of £14.99 line rental
Not sure if this is a good deal or not?
  • Just been offered:

    100 Broadband
    XL TV
    M Telephone

    Total of £60.49.

    Seems like a good deal?

The price incease only applies to those who have broadband only. No TV. No phone.

Seems I had a bit of luck here as initially I only wanted broadband!!!! Thank you Mr retention man for the free tv and phone line!! !!:T

Hoping someone on here can come up with the answer to save me searching for ages.

18 months into a 24 month contract for BB only. This latest rise means over 23% increase for me so far this year.

I know I can refuse the rise & cancel the contract but do retentions usually offer a new deal in these circumstances?

    I have 30 Mb broadband at £23.65/month,

Received the letter today for the £2.50 increase, £26.15 is simply too much for my budget so went ahead and cancelled, will of course post update.
