Virgin Broadband... GOING UP AGAIN!?!?

I'm so angry. This is the second rise in 6 months.
Can I do anything about this?
EDIT: I'm railed into staying with Virgin Fibre Optic - They're the only ones that run a cable into your house and into the router. The wiring in our phone sockets is busted, so we can't use anyone else..

The price of your broadband is going up.
But you're still getting great value from your broadband service.
Dear Mr May
We wanted to let you know that, from 1st October 2013, the price of your Virgin Media broadband is going up by £2.50 a month. It's never nice when prices increase so we wanted to reassure you that you're still getting a great broadband service.
You're getting an award winning service - and it's not
just us saying it.
For the fifth year running Ofcom has said we deliver the fastest widely available home broadband service*, and we offer a service that's at least twice as fast as the UK average±. Plus, uSwitch has voted us top for speed with an award for the Fastest Home Broadband, and given us their overall award for being the Best Broadband Provider. On top of that, Netflix has rated our service above our competitors when it comes to providing Netflix members the best streaming experience.
Here's how you're getting great value.
When you're with us you don't need to pay for a phone line to get superfast fibre optic broadband, and we're the only provider to give you that flexibility. You also have the freedom of unlimited downloadsˆ – with no extra charges no matter how much you download. And for the whole time you're with us, you get completely free technical support, servicing and repairs†. (Sky charges £65 if you need a call out when you're out of warranty).
And don't forget, you're already saving £81 on your bill.
By going for paperless billing, and payment by Direct Debit, you're already saving £81 on your annual bill.
Kind Regards,

Your 'wiring is busted'? If you take out a service on a BT -based line, then your line rental provider is responsible for the supply and maintenance up to and including the NTE5 master socket. So if the fault is at or upstream of that, they have to fix it for free, unless it's user inflicted. So you can use another provider without any additional outlay (other than the initial reconnection charge)
Extension sockets and wiring are of course your own responsibility, just as with VM.
You are free to leave without penalty if the increase is materially detrimental and you exercise that option within the required timescale. Otherwise, you cannot object to the increase, because you aren't in a fixed price contract-so they can increase it as often and by as much as they wish. That's what you agreed to.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Yes, its going up again.
You didn't think that BT Sport inclusion would be free did you?!0 -
Well, it's only £2.50, and while I don't want to belittle that since every penny counts these days, I would say that we should be more worried about the huge hikes in gas and electricity prices over the past year or so. Council tax bills not being far behind.0

You would be horrified just how much, in percentage terms virgin have hiked prices in the last couple of years, far worse than gas and electric!0 -
Yes you can cancel your contract, as long as you do it within 30 days.
See section J part 3 of the terms and conditions0 -
