That's not the way to do it
You don't tell them too much of what you know & where you get your information.
Why spoil it for others ??

I was a little confused by that.
So you're paying £38/month for everything with Sky Movies & Sky Sports.
    £13.25 is the add-on price for 4Mb Broadband (£12) & Talk Weekend (£1.25).

Sorry - to clarfy I am paying £38 all in for 4meg bb, phone line (talk weekends) and all the channels (inc sky sports/movies).

£13.25 (0r £13.75 I believe as its £12.50 for bb and 1.25 for the rest) would be the cost for tha above without sky sports/movies. I.E im paying £24.75 for movies and sports (not necessaraly a good deal but overall not bad!). I didnt have to have movies/sports and if I didnt Id be paying £13.25 overall. I was as surprised as you are! :o

Believe what you want. Saying you saw it on an internet forum wont get you anything whatsoever. If you dont believe it dont do it, but dont just spoil it for everyone. I have no interest in making these things up as what would be the point??? Im just trying to help others by saying what I got. I may have been lucky but that doesnt mean Im lying. Sorry for trying to help!

Well why on earth would people fib on here whats the purpose in that. Didn't you think its more likely that shes saying this to you so she doesnt have to give you a better deal. Often they don't give you the best deal straight away and see if youl settle for something not so good, probably what shes done with you.

I have had some ridiculously low deals, I havent tried in a while though since its virgin but I will be doing soon
    Thanx

It may be a package deal, but only because I pushed for Sky sports and movies (thought I said that)? She offered me the deal before I asked about sky sports and movies and I was under no obligation to get those channels. £13.75 was what I would have paid without movies and sport. No more no less...

Babbler I wonder if you were to take the movie and sport off if they would actually honour the £13.75 though?

They would surely make a loss.

I reckon they have worked it based on £38 a month and taking the hit on free movies and sports (both of which I was given free after this post

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=120224

    )

I didnt even mention movies and sport to her when she offered me the £13.75 deal... it wasnt even in the equation. I have no idea if they would have honourd it as I decided for sports and movies AFTER I was offered this as I thouhgt it was cheap and I could afford to add on more things. Maybe thats what they hope for! But it was me who asked not them.

I`m fuming! Was told in december that I could have
    Broadband,
    Phone line rental,
    evening and weekend calls
and non direct debit charge for £15.49 for 6 months but I have been getting charged £22.50 per month!.

So I phoned up Virgin(NTL) and the bloke said I could have all listed above for £17.50 for the next 3 months.

So where is the £15.49 for 6 months? Nowhere to be seen!!!
So I`m going to write a letter of complaint and see where that gets me.

Rang Telewest/Virgin today with an accounts query. Phoned 150. Then asked what they could do to reduce my costs.

    Was paying: -
    2mb Broadband £18
Line rental and weekend calls £11
    'Basic' TV £5.50
    Total £34.50

    I was IMMEDIATELY offered
    2 mb Broadband
Line rental and free weekend calls
'Essential' TV - more channels inc Eurosport - which pleased Mrs Q.

    All for £23 for life.

Perhaps not as good as some of the results seen earlier, and I tried and failed to get calls unlimited, but still a good result for a first try.
    Watch out for the sandbag.
