Get fit for free in London
Hi, we're just working on a new destination guide for London and I'm adding in a few ways to get fit for free. So far we're including Our Parks, some of the sports shops' fitness classes, free tennis courts and ParkRun, but I wondered if you've tried anymore that you think should be included? Thanks in advance, Megan

Best exercise Bike
The human body is an amazingly robust machine. Even if years and years of ignorance that have endorsed pound after pound of fat to fill out your structure, you can rid yourself of that lard at a lot faster rate than you brought it on board. You can either choose to attend gym, or try home fitness equipment like exercise…

Cycling for newbies!
I'm considering taking up cycling but was looking for some advice first. I've tried contacting a local community cycling group but not heard back from them yet. I don't know the first thing about cycling to be quite honest (I haven't cycled in probably 15 years when I was a child!) and I've never cycled on the road so to…

Looking for a good gym workout schedule
I'm mainly wanting to get rid of body fat but perhaps gain muscle at the same time. I'm just looking for a schedule I could work at with the gym without me overdoing it, but will do me some good at the same time, and some motivation towards it. I used to be around 15 and half stone when I was a teenager, but due to illness…

Nordic Walking!
Wow, I've just had my first experience of a beginners' group in Nordic Walking and I love it! Out in the open air, arms swinging from the shoulder, the freedom to just step out and the confidence that I have two poles to help my balance and at the same time work my upper body. Up to about 20 years ago we would walk the…

David lloyd or virgin active...
Hey! So Im looking into a new gym membership and I know both clubs are pricy but I usually go around 5-6 times a week for classes, gym and swimming. I cant decide which club to join as David Lloyd is £60 a month, but it is just under 30 mins from my house. Im worried if I have a gym that far away it will be an excuse not…

Washing gym kit
I regularly work out and (obviously) wash my gym kit after each workout - however some fabrics can only be washed at 30 degrees and although they smell clean / fresh when I next put them on - once I / they get warm during a workout I'm paranoid they are getting smelly. Can anyone recommend a gentle but effective way of…

Where to buy Walkie Talkies
Hey I want to give my family walkie talkies so we can all keep track of each other when on walks. As I can't guarantee mobile signal this seems like the best approach. Open to suggestions. Does anyone know where to buy cheap walkie talkies, plus I don't want to pay for a license (which I believe you need to now a days) so…

50 minutes for a 10k (21 years old)
I did a 10k in 50 minutes the other day. The 10k was on roads and fields and had a few hills in it. I just want to know if this is a fairly decent time for a 10k? https://www.strava.com/activities/733329953

Daniels silverman court action
Hi, I found this site after stumbling on a similar post, which I am not allowed to link to as a new member, about Daniels Silverman threatening to take legal action for a parking ticket debt. I signed up for a 12 month gym member subscription, and was told at the time that my contract would automatically expire after the…

5K in under 20 minutes
Hi I've been running for the past year. I tend to go out 2 or 3 times a week and I do 5k each time. I'm really happy with how I have improved over the year and I just got my best time of 21.50. I now feel I want to push myself further and my ultimate aim is sub 20 minutes. But I have no idea how I can shave a couple of…
