Ok so Beginning of August I started going swimming once a week (Sometimes miss some)

August, I did 15/20 laps (Average speed) in about 1 hour 30 mins

September, I started to go 2 times a week and do about 25/30 laps in 1 hour 30...

End of Sept I started to go 3 times a week and do about 30 laps in about 1 hour 15/30 min

October, I kept doing 30 laps but getting quicker (45mins/1hour) (Missed a week due to a cold)

Last 2 weeks or so I kept doing 30 laps sometimes 32 laps in 45mins/1 hour

Today I did 38 laps in 55 mins (Felt really good about it)

I feel that I am getting fitter/more energetic/happier and loosing weight everywhere (Belly fat is going down slowly not big difference yet) (Wasn't that bad anyway)

Food I ate after swimming was Ham Sandwich 50/50 bread and chicken & bacon mayo pasta salads..

Is there anything I should change or am I doing fine??

What length are your laps? Olympic sized pool?

Sounds like you've made a huge amount of progress in a fairly short amount of time. So you're doing double the distance in 2/3 of the time that you started at - definitely sounds like you're doing well to me!

Compared to me, you're doing fabulously. But then I can't swim. x

Are you doing well? We don't know what your goals are so only you can be the judge of that. But if you're fitter, feeling happier, making noticeable improvement in your swim times and losing weight then you're certainly not doing badly.

it will really help if you aim for 5 a day - some countries now advise 10 so you have some catching up to do. More veg than fruit is better due to the natural sugar in fruit. Veg adds bulk for little calories/fat as well as being full of vitamins, minerals etc vital for the body to operate well/heal/fight infections.

  • Well done for choosing a healthier lifestyle and for the massive improvement in your swimming. I agree with the others that improving your diet will make a big difference. Also I'd suggest more variety in your exercise because it will be more motivating in the long run.
  • I think you are doing amazing. Another here who can't swim btw. As you have probably realised once you start to see results it keeps you going and just think how well you will be doing at this rate if you keep going for another 6 months.

Are you fairly active otherwise? Remember that it will your help your fitness and swimming if you try and build as much exercise as possible into your day to day life.

All that swimming is going to make you more hungry so watch what you eat, especially if you are tempted to snack. I am a big believer in a balanced diet, lots of fruit and veg and not too much processed food.

It makes sense to watch the alcohol and caffeine too - although strong coffee is my one weakness.

    Good luck!
