Other than Swimming 3-4 times a week
I walk to work and home Every day (I only drive when it's raining heavily thankfully mother nature has been good lately or I get lift home from work if going to appointment or friend coming round mine)
I am usually on my feet all day (I Work for Suffolk County Council post room) only sit down for lunch etc
I don't drink much fizzy (Only diet now) or squash or fruit Juice
I hardly snack usually green grapes or bag of crips (Now and again) don't each much sweets or chocolate.
My diet is fairly good.
I walk to and from town (Shopping Clubbing Football) as only 5-15 mins (30 Mins football/work)0 -
Have you thought of adding some body weight exercises?
It's very good for your bones and helps with everyday life as well at no cost.
You can do simple things like wall press ups, squats, plank and bridge, all of which are amply shown on videos on you t*be and it just starts with 10 to 15 minutes a day.
Ramp it up slowly.
Then do your non-work walking briskly....
I am very impressed with your commitment to the swimming:)0 -
Thanks for that,
Other than walking (At work) I sometime have to life crates (Full of library books) or heavy parcels (When deliver to main council building)
I am not a big fan off doing weights etc just wanna keep fit0 -
But the things I've mentioned use yourself as the weight and can be done at home watching telly:) Strengthening your back muscles will help prevent injuries at work manual handling which is a plus
Give it go one day when you're bored maybe.0 -
Sounds good to me! I do lengths not laps but it takes me an hour to do 100 of them & I always keep around the same times, so you're getting much better! I think weights should be essential to everybody for all the health benefits & agree with at least doing some bodyweight exercises but well done, it sounds like you're making real progress x0

Yeah I am gonna go tonight, I feel allot healthier now0

Sounds like you have made good progress! If you are trying to bulk up muscle or lose weight I'd recommend the My Fitness Pal app and forum. I love swimming, I try to go 5 days a week but this isn't necessarily adviced, you are meant to leave a rest day in between. I think it sounds like you have it down!0

Any exercise is better than no exercise so well done firstly on starting.
Physical fitness goes hand in hand with mental health so it's understandable you feel happier and more energetic from doing exercise. Keep up the good work and healthy eating. It's a marathon, not a sprint so don't be disheartened by off days or slumps in weight loss.0
