Lowest cost / best investment platform for large investments (£2m+)
Hi, I'm thinking about moving away from Chares Stanley Direct to another platform, but they mostly seem to have complex fee structures that makes like for like comparisons tricky. What platforms do others use? Has anyone else done (or tried to do) accurate cost comparisons?

What are your annual costs?
Just seen someone in another thread claiming that costs of 1.78% per annum from St James Place are somehow reasonable. Personally, I think that is nonsense and would consider such levels verging on exploitative. But that does beg the question: what is reasonable? How much do typical people actually pay? I just calculated…

1 YR Savings Bond
Hello All, I've a 1 yr bond with Close Bros due to mature next Spring. I'm a little concerned that this lender seems to be suffering following the car finance "scandal'. My bond was clearly taken out when the bank guarantee limit was £400,000, ie. before the reduced bank guarantee limit of £85,000 came in, I believe a…

Savings for grandchild that lives in Australia
I now have a grandchild that lives in Australia. I'm based in the UK. I'd like to open an account such that I could put cash in there in lieu of birthday, easter and Christmas presents. By the time he is 16 or 18 I'm sure he will appreciate. Not huge amounts but it all adds up! Is this possible, if so how? Links etc would…

Monument App - Android Tablet
I have a phone running android 10 and a tablet running android 11. The app works on the phone but not the tablet. CS told me the minimum requirement was android 8.1 and they don't recommend using a tablet but couldn't tell me why the app is deemed "not compatible with your device" by play store despite running a newer OS.…

Vanquis Savings Account
I recently opened a Vanquis Savings account as suggested by Martin Lewis. To put money into the account you have to do a bank transfer from your own personal bank into the Vanquis savings account. I sent £1,000 around 3 hours ago just to test it out, it has left my Nat west account but nothing has arrived into my Vanquis…

Help with investing in UK Gilts
Just looking for the first time at putting some of my S&S ISA into a UK Gilt On my platform of choice there is a graph of the fund value that shows it was hovering around £130 a few years ago and now its dropped to around £100. Severn Trent Water
One of England's top-rated water companies is using an accounting trick to artificially inflate its balance sheet by more than a billion pounds, BBC Panorama has discovered. Severn Trent Water claims that an investment is worth £1.68bn in its accounts, when in reality it has no value to the overall business.I don't know…

Understanding FSCS for ISAs/SIPP & funds
Hi, I've got a stocks and shares ISA and a SIPP with AJBell. Each account has shares in a few different tracker funds (e.g. BlackRock consensus 85). Where to put £400k for 6 months
We have a period of between 4-6 months between selling our house and buying our new one and will need to put the sale proceeds somewhere, ideally being protected and earning interest at the same time. I have never had savings in my life and have no idea what kind of account to open that will tick these boxes. I know you…

Savings products on apps
I notice that the best savings rates only seem to be available via an app. Some others have an app as an option. With the spate of phone thefts, it's bad enough risking a theif being able to access one's bank account, but who wants to risk their savings like that?
