Quite long, Feel so down since getting kittens.
I have wanted to post this for a few weeks but have been putting it off because I know it will make me sound like a terrible person. I plan on being honest about my feelings because keeping things in and hiding it will just drag this whole thing out even longer and that is not fair on any of us. We have two six month old…

High vis stuff for dog walkers?
With the days getting shorter (boo, hissssss!) we're thinking about what stuff to get to help us be visible when taking our dog out in the evening for a walk. Any MSE recommendations please as to what to get and any particular make? We've considered LED collars (any colour better than others? e.g. would red be better given…

When is the time right for a horse share?
Hi all, I've been riding for about 18 months and am starting to feel less challenged by my lessons. My aim was to look for a share eventually, and I'm wondering if I might be at that stage now. I'm good to walk, trot, canter. I've no interest in jumping or competing if I'm honest, just a happy hacker and the occasional…

Contractual Obligation of Breeder - Returning a. Dog
Hi Everyone I know this is a bit of a sensitive issue, and my friend has done everything she can to avoid having to return the dog she purchased 2 and a half years ago, so please be kind. My friend purchased a Newfie pup a few years ago after doing her research and feeling that the breed would fit her family well. She has…

Cystophan & stress related cystitis - any experiences?
Evening to all Our elderly cat has just been 'diagnosed' with stress related cystitis. This is the 2nd time she gets it but this time it has been going on for about a week (previously it was just 24h thing). She makes frequent trips to wee and we can see blood in the urine. She has been to the vet, urine sample revealed no…

Doggy wind!
Hello :) Six weeks ago we adopted a dog whose owner had sadly passed away. We were friends of his owner so already knew the dog and he has settled in beautifully with our own dog. He is a three year old German Shepherd and the nicest dog we could meet BUT - he has awful smelly wind and does really stinky f*arts several…

Cat riddled with round-worm?
Hi all, our cat has had nasal sounding breathing ever since we got her from a rescue place, at first it was hardly noticeable but got worse after a few weeks. We have had her for around 6 months now and she's had worming treatment 3 monthly. On several trips to the local vetinary clinic we see different vets, one says it's…

How to get more fluid into a dog with urine infection
My dog went to the vet yesterday with a urine infection. Tablets have been prescribed which I have got down him in some soft cheese. On questioning the vet he's suggested feeding him pasta, so I've bought the tiny little grains and mixed with a little bit of chicken. I also asked the vet for a syringe so I can feed him…

Haven / Staffordshire Bull Terrier
I am planning on going to a Haven with my staff, but I am worried that she will not be allowed in. I've seen the breeds they ban when I try and book, but am worried that they might assume she is a banned breed. I have her papers from when she was born, but not sure if this proves anything.

Kitten peeing on MY bed help :(
We took in a kitten at 5 weeks old after she was abandoned by her mum. We had to stimulate her to go toilet for the first few days and would put her in her litter tray as soon as she started to do something. She was doing well until I put some litter powder in her tray to stop it from smelling. Then she started peeing on…

Should I or shouldn't i back out?
Hi there, Would appreciate some general advice please. A fortnight ago myself and my boyfriend went to view a puppy, fell in love, named him, and filled out this piece of paper with our address and contact details to be sent off for the microchip change of owner. It was not an official form. I had asked if it was ok to…

Litter tray liners.
After thirty years of being a having various cats it has suddenly struck me that maybe I'm missing a trick here! I have never used liners in the cats trays but yesterday I was vaguely aware of a bit of a lingering cat smell despite there being no obvious soiled lite. Wood pellets by the way. So I scrubbed the tray with…

Hair cat poop
Next doors cat has taken to having a hair poop on my driveway at the rear of my car, he does his normal poop in my garden when he gets the chance of a bare bit of soil but for some reason the ones he does on the drive are all hair with virtually no poop material in them. Should I let my neighbours know about these poops or…

Shared Garden complaint
Hi, sorry to bore you all with this but it's nice to get an external point of view that is not a close family connection. I own the Freehold/leasehold of an upstairs flat and we have a communal garden between the 4 flats and have a 12 year old dog. I've previously had a "discussion" with my neighbour about the dog going in…

Small area of dandruff/dry skin on young JRT
My youngest JRT (23mths) has recently developed a patch of flaky skin on his side. It's within a large black spot of hair and I've noticed that his skin in the flaky area is white (with black hair growing through), whereas the skin underneath the rest of the black spot has the darker pigmentation. If I touch the flaky…

Cat Collar Problem...as in, my cats arent being moneysaving! ;)
so my darling 16month old kitty Lola has just returned from wherever she goes to do her ninja/killer training without her collar. Wouldnt mind so much but this is collar #5 in the last 3 months. My other cat (3yr old) is much more a housecat and goes out occasionally but even he has lost 3 in the last few months. :wall: On…
