Cat peeing everywhere- advice on prognosis with kidney issues?
Got a vet appointment for my 13yo cat tomorrow as she’s been peeing on the floor a lot. Trying to tweak litter etc, taking the lid off her tray hasn’t helped so don’t think it’s due to her not liking her tray. Now I think about it, she has been drinking more water too. Google suggests it could be kidney issues and that…

Romanian Rescue Dogs
Hi We've been hoping to get a dog for a while. I've been looking at local animal rescues but so far I've not been able to find a suitable dog. I'm keeping an eye on pets4homes but to be honest with all the issues around scammers I'm very wary. I am aware of a number of charities that rescue dogs in Romania and bring them…

Vets, the law & microchips - help! (cats)
Hi can anyone help - cat related, not dog. Scenario: cat gets taken to a vet by someone who "found the cat" for vaccines and a microchip. Ooooo whaddya know, its already chipped so vet (V) emails registered owner of the cat, do you want it back? Registered owner (RO) says "yes, I shall have her back thank you. What time…

Neighbours dog barking becoming an issue
Nov 20 my neighbours got a cockapoo puppy. They told me that their best friend trained guide dogs and they hated yappy dogs and it would be trained not to bark. They needed a puppy as their 3 Childrens mental health was suffering due to lockdown. So they got the cute little puppy and trained it to let them know it wanted…

Innocent dog fouling fine?
Hello I recently got a dog fouling fine but I’m innocent. I believe I know who reported me. Essentially my dog was sniffing at a gate because they enjoy sniffing almost every spot which makes walks longer but the owner stormed out and was so antagonising saying she shouldn’t be doing that and then started to say she does…

Cat Boosters?
Been around 10 years since my last pet cat and it seems like things have changed, the rescue centre we went to told us cats have to have a annual boosters injection in order to stay healthy! I mentioned my last cat never had any but only lived for 22 years which i thought was good but the recue centre operative claims it…

Dog Howls All Day Long
We live in a 'good' area with a fair number of well looked after expensive dogs. One of the newer neighbours a few doors down bought a dog 4 years ago. We'd hear the owner shout at the dog and sometimes hit her. We would hear her yelp when she was abused. I know it's female as he'd constantly shout 'bad girl' at her. I…

Cat scale and polish at £192. Is this the standard cost?
At my cat's last checkup the vet recommended a scale and polish for him as there was some tartar on his teeth. Really wish I'd done more research and brushed his teeth from a young age but at least now I know. Does anyone know if this is a standard cost for this procedure? It seems expensive but prevention is better than…

Dog & Flea problem, next steps?
Last weekend we took the dog through the local woods and the dog did what he usually does, goes in the stream for a swim. The only way to keep him out of water would be to keep him on a lead. Its never been a problem before but I wonder of he has picked something up in the water. Since weekend he has been scratching and…

Crate training
We are hoping to welcome a puppy into our family next week. She's a rescue and is around 14-16 weeks old. There's no history, she was left at a vets with two litter mates. We are assuming they are not used to being in a home. We have had a dog before but never crate trained. Our dog slept on our bed and had full run of the…

How to keep neighbours cats out of house/ garden?!
Bought a house a few months ago and next door (attached to us) have 2 cats. I don’t mind cats and I know it’s very hard to keep them out of the garden…they do leave mess out there most days which is very annoying as the children go out a lot. The bigger problem is that they come into the house. We have bifold doors which…

Cat poo garden hopefully sorted
I read on here you can filling empty coke bottles with water and this will keep cats away from pooing in your garden. I'm yet to try this but have read a few people find this works. This is my question. If the moggies stop visiting our garden in this winter time, will they remember not to return next spring when we hope to…

Pet Insurance (for multiple pets) and single renewal date going forward.
I already have a cat insured with 'The Pet Emporium' which is due for renewal in February however just adopted a new kitten this week that I'm looking to insure. I'm aware of multi-pet insurance which usually saves a percentage off the cover however, I can't determine is whether there is any way of synchronising up the…
