2nd post in a few days sorry!
I've been reading how much to feed to my pup. 8 week Cocker spaniel weight around 7lb. And I'm confused how much too feed him since every site says a different amount!
At the moment I'm do 60g x3 a day so total 180g
Is this too much?
As an example I have seen 2 search results - one says 60g per day other days up to 200g per day 🤔

It depends on what you are feeding.
You feed less of a high quality food with no bulky fillers than you do for a low quality food with lots of bulky fillers.
The food packet will give you advice on how much to feed. Start with that and keep an eye on your pups weight.
If he is getting thin then, increase the amount a little.
If he is getting plump then reduce it a little.
Like people some need more than others.
I had two retrievers. One was 36 kgs and the other was 19 kgs. The 19kg one was fed twicwe as much as the 36 kg one and was still very slim.

What advice did the breeder give you?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Mine (9-pound Brittany puppy) was fed about 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. At each meal, he would be given a cup of puppy food.I've noticed that he isn't particularly hungry in the morning. He'll probably finish a quarter of his cup. Depending on how much exercise he got during the day, he wants more than a cup in the evening. It's actually fortunate for me because I had planned to solely feed him in the evening.0

We fed our Lab on James Wellbeloved(others are available)and followed the pack instructions according to weight.
Being a Lab she ate everything and anything but as she got older, and onto adult food we reduced the amounts to about 2/3rd of the recommended to account for training snacks.
It does depend on the dog, amount of exercise and the breed.
Also if you use cheaper food, you will find the pups have to go to poo more due to the fillers in the food.
With a better quality food toilet times are reduced which means less work for you.

It really does depend on the individual pup. As other posters have said, try the packet amount and go from there. Also, take care not to mistake begging for hunger!
My parent's lab (now 2) got fat as a puppy on less than what the packet said (I think they fed him Beta puppy).
My Border Collie pup would starve if you fed him the recommended amount. He gets 50% more and is still lean. We now feed him the working dog stuff as it's more calorific to allow for increased activity, plus the bonus you don't pay VAT (since this is a money saving forum).Pensions actuary, Runner, Dog parent, Homeowner0
