washing machine for over 70s
Hi Can anyone recommend a washing machine that has basic controls and easy to understand (not all singing and dancing) for my mum who is in her 70s and quite a technophobe. She uses two settings of 40 deg and 60 deg and on the odd occasion might need a quick wash setting. Thank you all in advance. x

Transfer of ownership
My 82 year old mother has decided that she wants to transfer deeds of ownership on her property to myself and my brother to 'avoid paying care home fees as they have taken enough money off me in my lifetime and continue to do so through my pension'. She says that as I privately rent I should have the property to be able to…

Council want to move aunt to a cheaper care home after 4 years!
My aunt moved in to a care home following the death of my uncle. She couldn't cope living on her own and went downhill fast. 60 + property - why?
Hi folks, I'm 62 next birthday and sometimes I feel like it, sometimes I don't! Today I went for an 8 mile walk with a younger chum and thoroughly enjoyed it. Raise cash from house
I don't really like equity release for a number of reasons. It is difficult (if not impossible?) for golden oldies to get a standard mortgage. Has anyone ever considered / investigated whether it would be possible to arrange a BTL mortgage as an alternative?

A relative is joint owner of a house he and his wife own. His wife is moving into a nursing home to live, he is over 60 and will continue to live in the house. My question is, if he was to die would the LA expect at 100% of the monies go to his wife? In his will he is leaving his 50% to another relative, will this mean the…

Personal rate of inflation
With my pensions rising by 4% this year, I wondered what the real rate of inflation was for me. I found an interesting personal inflation calculator here: https://www.rathbones.com/personal-inflation-calculator Interestingly, it gave my personal rate of inflation as 0.3%. I am sixty-two now and working three days a week. I…
