Stamp duty
Hi all. I purchased my first home in July 2018 and paid £3100 in stamp duty, the conveyance solicitor asked if I owned other properties and advised yes, as several years previously to this my parents transferred the ownership of their home to me and my brother. They are still living so should the stamp duty have been paid?

Hi, I've just received 3 letters from council tax dated claiming they have adjusted the tax band on a house I privately rented and I now owe them money. This is for the period 2005-2007. Does this sound right, can they really just adjust the band then claim money from everyone that has lived there?

This is my first time buying a…

Banding Challenge. Am I Wasting My Time?
I have been trying to challenge my current banding for some time. Land Split In Two and Sold Off
For two reasons, I believe I am in the wrong band. The first reason is that every house on my street, including mine, was put into band E. My house is a good 25% smaller than every house (but it's not going to be easy to prove - lack of sales etc) The second reason, and the reason I can easily prove, is that again, every…
