Hi All,
I currently live in Leeds and I'm a single person living in a 2-bed house. The property is CT Band A, the price per annum is £1305.59, or (£979.19 with single person discount).
I could be moving to Bradford shortly and have seen a property that is also Band A, but it is 3 bedroom.
Everybody is telling me the council tax bill will go up because of the increase in bedrooms.
Is this correct?
Thanks for your help.
Regards

CT is based on property values as at 1 April 1991. Depending on location, age, type and size, it is quite possible for a 3 bed to be in the same band as a 2 bed. However if the owner of the property you are buying has extended it from a 2 bed to a 3 bed and there is an Improvement Indicator against the entry in the Valuation List, then the band could increaseIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1

can't you just look up the Bradford Council tax bands on their website to see what it will be?

lots of different properties fall into the same band. Usually they only change band if they have been extended and are revalued upon sale, so if you are buying a property that has been extended you will probably pay a bit more. If the new house is 3 bed and has always been 3 bed, you will be paying the same as everyone else in that band.Worst debt £31,746
