Land Split In Two and Sold Off

For two reasons, I believe I am in the wrong band.
The first reason is that every house on my street, including mine, was put into band E. My house is a good 25% smaller than every house (but it's not going to be easy to prove - lack of sales etc)
The second reason, and the reason I can easily prove, is that again, every single house on my street was built on double (two) plots. I have the deeds which shows this. In 2006, the previous owners split the title and sold off the back garden (the second plot). Another house was built on this plot. We bought the house in 2015 and my gut feeling is, this is when the Council Tax should definitely have changed our house to a lower band.
I understand if you increase the size of the dwelling, it gets re-evaluated when property is sold. I would think this 'should' work both ways, ie, 50% of the land along with the garage was sold off.
On the Government website I couldn't see an option for this scenario. Does anyone know if I can have my house revalued on the basis that my house sits on one plot, therefore the house and land is worth a lot less than my neighbours?
Or would I simply be better off trying to prove the small size of my house in comparison to the other houses?
Many thanks

Generally, you appeal by finding properties the same as yours but in a different band - not the other way around.HollyandCo said:this is when the Council Tax should definitely have changed our house to a lower band.0

I'm ex VOA and surprisingly, the plot size has very little effect on the band, especially back garden. You can ask the VOA to review the band but you will have to provide evidence which suggests your home is in the wrong band.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
