Home insurance due but getting ready to sell.

Is there anyway I can recoup some of the money I'll be paying for my policy or is an annual renewal a sunk cost if you sell 3 months in?

You need to be covered while selling.
When I moved I just phoned my insurers and after questions about my new house, they adjusted the price, details as part of the same policy.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

You would get a pro-rata refund, minus some admin fees, you can likely transfer the policy to your new home. Overall the cost of the admin fee/transfer would be trivial compared to the costs associated with moving.

You may not sell for 9 months.!

Just renew your policy as normal (and don't forget to negotiate the renewal premium) and wait until the house is sold before worrying if you can get a pro rata refund. When I say "sold" I mean when the house actually changes hands.
