I've moved into a house with LPG and am going to get a quick 1000-litre refill out of contract with Calor at around 70p a litre. I've heard people mention standing charges - how does Calor collect this if im just paying for a one of £700 payment?

LPG connection to home needs upgrade to 22mm pipe.
Just moved into LPG property and the very old boiler has packed up. Old owners had it repaired day after we moved in but went again 2 days later , engineer has now written it off. We want to install a combi boiler which I'm told needs 22mm pipe for gas supply. Currently the pipe work from the storage tank runs to the side…

Moved into a house with LPG - tips.
I've just moved to a house with a 2000 litre LPG tank. Calor has suggested that i half-fill it for £700 to see how I get on before making any decisions about contracts. This seems sensible as there is only 19% left in the tank, which is about 25 days worth and they need 14 days notice to come out. Do you have any advice or…

Good LPG deal?
I'm new to LPG and was advised to contact LPG Save who have offered me 50p per litre (plus 5% VAT), £60 p.a. standing charge for a 24 month contract with Flogas. Also, they will sweeten the deal with a £40 gift card for M&S. Is this a good deal in your opinion?

Edited discussion title: suspected LPG gas leak - help
I posted this message in another forum so apologies for duplicate posting. We switched off the LPG supply at the tank yesterday (suspected leak) and today we turned it on again but this has not restored the supply. We have tried resetting the regulator but this has not worked. Does anyone have any ideas before we call out…

How to work out usage?
Hi, We have just had a new 35kw gas boiler installed, we use Propane as we are not on mains gas. Our last 3 year old Daikin hybrid gas boiler/heat pump died, the heat exchange filled up with water and it was out of warranty, running in emergency mode and THE most complicated heating system known to man. I'm interested to…

Solar Panels - Yay or Nay?
What are the cons I am not considering for solar and maybe some of the less obvious pros? My Sept 2021 tariff has another 15 months to run and then I am in for a world of hurt, having just calculated my bills at todays prices. Got me seriously considering solar as I will be savings upward of £100 a month if I can generate…

Heating oil rebate
3 months since announcing the £400 electricity/gas grant, the UK Government have still not advised when those using oil for their heating will receive any assistance or how it will be rolled out. I believe it will be a measily £100 which will but about 1 week worth of oil (current ppl is approx £0.95) and won't be of much…

Oil £100 payment info
Got this info from my local oil club today. Update on the extra £100 support for heating oil users: As with the wider Energy Bills Support Scheme model, the Government has now announced the £100 for oil users will be credited via your electricity provider against your electricity account. However, we dont know when this…

Solar install without MCS registered installer
I've recently had solar panels installed with a battery for storage. However, there are times when the solar panels are generating more than the battery can store, so some power is going back to the grid. I'd like to sign up for a feed in tariff to get paid for the excess power I'm generating, but it seems that an MCS…

LPG Boiler Service Contract
I've just had our renewal come through for our Worcester Bosch (Domestic & General) Service Contract and it'd increased £10 to a ridiculous £38 per month. Does anyone know any alternative providers who cover LPG boilers which are over 10 years old? The other option is to service it independently and self-insure.

Figuring out temperature on Glowworm Economy Plus Boiler
Hi all, as probably many people are doing, I'm trying to figure out what my temperature is on my Glowworm Economy Plus Boiler. It has a dial, 1 - 4, but no where in the manual does it state what numbers these represent in form of temperature. Anyone got an idea as it would be handy to know. Thanks!

Blanking Plate Rusted off Back of Multi Fuel Stove
Hi All, I live in a rural property with no gas mains, I rely on a Hunter multi-fuel stove that's always been relatively trouble free. The other night I heard a metallic thud, assumed it was the cat knocking something over and thought nothing of it. A week or so later I was giving my stove its annual fettle before the…

Cheapest supplier of smokeless coal/briquettes this year?
Does anyone have the best prices for smokeless bags of 'coal' this year please? I normally buy from a local chandlery, and it's gone from £12.50 for 25kg to £16.50 for 25kg this year. This might be the best price I can get it, but I just wondered what other people are paying for this kind of fuel, and if I can get it any…
