Looking for trim/finish/edging between kitchen worktop and wall
Hi All, not sure what the best word for this is, but it is about the corner between the kitchen worktop and the wall. I know that in the UK, often only silicone sealing is used. In Germany, we often have these 2-part systems, where one part is screwed to the kitchen top (this has the seals to wall and kitchen top, and then…

Kitchen sink has indigestion
Any ideas welcome. Sink - empty the washing up bowl and the mass of water goes down fine, just as it should. No problem with the washing machine emptying to it. But smaller amounts of water, say a saucepan, and it goes down, rises just above the plug hole then gurgles, then belches three or four times from I think below…

Estimated cost of extending kitchen into garage?
What's the likely cost of extending the kitchen into the garage? The current kitchen is looking a bit knackered, so will need new fittings anyway, and is definitely small. Location: East London Thanks

Buying new integrated double oven?
My integrated fan oven tripped the electrics yesterday and now won't heat up. I have a double oven set into tall unit. The top small oven is conventional oven and the bottom one is the fan oven. I rarely use the top oven but that is still working. The fan on the bottom oven has been making loud rattling noises on and off…

a warning about threebestrated.co.uk
I was a victim of a rogue trader last May who were reported to Trading Standards, Gas Safe etc. It also turned out that they were listed on Threebestrated.co.uk This is a website that says they go through a 50 point check of a company before they can be listed. I contacted threebestrated.co.uk to inform them that they had…

Bosch Serie 6 pumping issues.
Hi. This has been ongoing for some time, and I originally found hair wrapped around the pump impeller shaft which I managed to mostly remove using a contrived tool. It always returns, so it's now time to fully remove the pump for a thorough clean. However, summat else happened yesterday - I heard two large gushes coming…

Vaillant condensing boiler freezing - minimising condensate?
I woke this morning to a quiet and cold house, as the heating wasn't running and the rads were cold. Having experienced it before and it being -5°C overnight, I hoped it was just a frozen condensate pipe - which it was. A few jugs of warm water later, I was able to restart the Vaillant boiler and it has run fine through…

new shed on concrete slab
I've recently had an old brick garage (20ft X 10ft) demolished and plan to have a 16ft X 8ft pressure treated wooden shed with floor bearers installed on the concrete slab -- the slab will be bigger than the shed. Pent style shed with a gutter along the short side next to the fence. I've noticed that after heavy rain the…

Wickes Installation service - are there any successful outcomes when things have gone wrong.
Hi all, I am having a really terrible experience after having bought a Wickes bathroom and opted for their installation service. I thought, as Wickes was a well known brand, that their installation service would be better than the usual installers - where often it can be pot luck!! A two/three week bathroom installation…

Which pressure washer?
I hope to get an outside tap fitted next year, I already have a 13 amp socket in my outbuilding. Do I just need a standard tap, and any old pressure washer. Perhaps I need one with a slightly longer pipe, as my drive is not the best. Titan TTB2200PRW(£125) 150bar with 8m of hose looks ok, is there another hose to connect…

Back-to-the-wall inset sinktop.
Just saw this on Pinterest (I think), and I like the idea - I hate the wee gap left behind inset sinktops that serve no purpose and just become messy and wet. Struggling to find one, tho'. Any ideas? Thanks. (Or is it just an ordinary inset sink set back a bit further? The amount of 'top showing at the front looks more…

Heat pump error
I have an ongoing issues with a Panasonic heat pump. The code is H20 pump error. An engineer came out yesterday and cleaned the pump out and realised the fuse had blown on the mother board. He put a new 13amp fuse in and it started working and was going fine for about 3 hours. Then the error came back again and I’ve got no…
