Yet another 'savings plan', slightly unique
Hey everyone Its really interesting reading about everyone's plans to save money, and it's really encouraging that people are making it work. Having read the stories of others I thought I'd share my saving goals: - I'm 23 and currently have around £18000 saved. I aim to get this up to around £30000 by the end of the year,…

Tesco - check your receipts !
I always look at the reduced sections and special offers before doing the rest of my shopping in Tesco, and initially looked at the receipt afterwards to see how much I'd saved. It was then I discovered that not all the offers had been put through at the offer price. Fortunately I live near the store and was able to return…

Unexpected saving
Used a £5 off £25 coupon but then I found in an ad after buying from buyagift.co.uk a discount code that offered 10% off since what I bought was £80 It would have been better to use the 10% code, but for whatever reason this code was not published anywhere only inside ad banners so I contacted them and they gave me the…

Unnessary bills......
I'm a great m'ser (or miser), extreme couponing, getting reduced food at the end of the day, finding bargains at carboots, charity shops etc. but I can be disorganised and lose unnecessary money. :( So far, this year, I've lost; £60 parking fine - I contested this, got refused and then forgot to pay within the time limit…

How much on your Christmas grocery bill - including booze?
We have just finished doing our Christmas grocery shopping, and have bought everything we need except pork pies and the trifle which we get from Sainsburys. All the stuff we will need is in the pantry, freezer and fridge. Creams and cheeses are in date til mid January, and so are mince pies and nibbles, so we were able to…

Thanks again Martin; another £19k
Just screwed AmEx out of 3 weeks, 5 star next summer, with 1st class flights thrown in. Total cost £1012.50, worth about £28k through Avios. This was amassed through usual spending for business and pleasure at around £12k a month, and a £140k bill I've put on last month in 7 goes for work (£26k limit). Thanks again Martin.

How to get my laptop to pay for itself.
About a year ago I purchased a brand new Apple Macbook. I love it but recently have found myself wondering if it was worth the money. As I work in an office all day and spend all day staring at a screen, when I return home my first thought is rarely to turn my laptop on, however it is a beautiful piece of machinery and I…

Saving Advice?
A kick up the behind would be helpful right now. I will need a newer second hand car by the winter time and so far I've only saved £500. I 'could' have saved £1000 by now. I know all the rules, I know how and where to make the cuts - I'm just not flipping doing it. I drew £300 out of my savings this month instead of…

airmiles/loyalty cards
I can't help myself if I see a loyalty card I have got to have it! Back in 2002/3 I picked up a Tescos card and transferred the points to airmiles, over the years they accumulated and I ended up with 6000+ Last year this changed to Avios and it was suggested that you should use up your airmiles. I have a cousin in Boston…
