I am going back to University in September 2013. Due to Student Finance's eligibility requirements, I am only eligible for one more years funding from them; my final year.
As this degree will be a two year degree, I will be funding the first year personally, with fee's being approximately £5,000.
In February I will deposit £1000 in to a Cash ISA account. I will then be depositing a further £100 per 4 week period until September 2013. This should equate to approximately £1800 altogether + any interest that the account will accrue.
I want to save a further £3000 myself and I am going to take my hand to 'Match Betting'. I shall update this diary often so that I, and others, can see my progress.

Monday 10th December.
Today I started match betting! Wahey!
I made quite a few rookie mistakes today...
I signed up to Betfair a couple of days ago, but I failed to enter the promo code to receive free bets (moron!). That was the first rookie mistake.
I then signed up to Ladbrokes. I made a small bet with a stake of £10, and laid it at BetFair with £9.76. I won £20, as well as a free £10 bet.
I then signed up to Paddy Power. I read the T&C's and made a small bet of £10, and laying it at Betfair with £10.20. I got my £20 free bet, which I will use nearing the end of the week. I also used TopCashBack, and am awaiting my £20.20 to be credited to my TCB account.
I also signed up to 888Sport. They are offering £88 of free bets in exchange for numerous small bets on odds of 2.0+. I placed a bet of £10, laying it at BetFair with £10.24. I got £17.27 from 888Sport back.
I also signed up to SkyBet. They were offering £10 free bet, for no deposit. I shall take a look at the odds tomorrow to find a suitable odds (7+) in order to extract this bet. They are also offering a free £5 bet every week, if I make a small £5 bet myself each week.
Today's transactions look like this;
Stakes: -£60
Winnings: £37.27
Cash Back: £0 (Awaiting for £20.20 to be credits to TCB)
Free Bets: £0 / £40 (£30 in free bets, but £0 extracted)
TOTAL: £-22.73
I am sitting at -£22.73, as I am awaiting for the £20.20 to become available from TopCashBack, as well as the £40 in free bet's.SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000 -
Good luck with matched betting! I considered this but I couldn't get my head around it, I think I need to give the suggested reading threads several readthroughs until I do. I'll be following your progress!0

Good Luck I must admit I am tempted to go to Uni but many more ideas are calling!
Lots of different ways of making money my fav is eBay and car boots x0 -
Placed my first bet with SkyBet. £5 on Sunderland v Reading game tomorrow. 2 / 2.06 odds. Nice small time easy one to start the weekly free £5 bets rolling in.
I'll take a look at the free bets on Friday evening, see what odds are floating around for the weekend. Hopefully I can find some decent same odds for my freebie bets - have £40 of them currently to start extracting.
Noticed there aren't many bookmakers doing cash back via TCB / Quidco. Will have to look in to other reward sites too, as it all adds up.
So, the end of Monday looks like this...
Today's transactions look like this;
Stakes: -£70.18
Winnings: £37.27
Cash Back: £0 (Awaiting for £20.20 to be credits to TCB)
Free Bets: £0 / £40 (£40 in free bets, but £0 extracted)
TOTAL: -£32.91SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000 -
Placed a bet on the horse racing today, odds were 2.62/2.66. I then got my first £10 free bet from 888Sport.
So I have £50 in free bets to use, as well as £20 in cash back coming my way. I'll use the free bets when I get paid from work (around the 28th).
Transfered money from my bookies accounts in to my bank - so that I can transfer it to my BetFair account. I'm going to keep £50 in BetFair for the moment, to lay bets from (with liabilities too).
I've created a spreadsheet, detailing which bookies and offers I have already used. It also details every bet I have placed, and the outcome of said bets. I also have a tab detailing information relating to free bets, detailing if I have received the free bets, and if I have used them - this should help me to keep track of everything in one place!
Expenditure: -£2.52 (Stakes-Winnings)
Cash back: £0/£20.20 (Awaiting to be credited)
Free bets: £0/£50 (Waiting to use)SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000 -
Monday 17th December.
Cash back.
I got £1.01 cash back from doing car insurance quotes, as insurance is due in Jan, and £1.01 from GiffGaff for ordering a free SIM card. I also received £20.20 cash back from Ladbrokes.
Free Bets.
I extracted some of the free bets from some bookies. They were;
£8.11 from Ladbrokes, £7.58 from SkyBet, £9.43 and £7.38 from 888Sport, as well as £8.55 from PaddyPower.
This makes a total of £41.64 + £22.24 = £63.88SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000
