A nail file which actually FILES DOWN NAILS - any recommendations?
I need a nail file which gets to work with a vengeance. Something which abrades nails QUICKLY and doesn't result in having to spend hours on my nails. I need it for shortening and not shaping. It's amazing how all the online information virtually talks around this. Almost goes out of its way to avoid the subject, as if…

My mid 50s wife didn't see an orthodonist until later in life and so was still wearing braces in her 30s. She now has TMD, she should have been wearing her retainers but didn't. She has after about 15+ years is starting wearing them again in case this helps - would seeing an orthodonist help?

Choosing a specialist away from my area
I was told you can choose a hospital and specialist in a different area to where you're usually sent locally. - https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/about-the-nhs/your-choices-in-the-nhs/ I was recommended this guy- https://www.britishherniasociety.org/john-findley/ It's also a shorter wait. He's an hour and a half away.…

Dentist told to cancel appointments
Hi I spoke with my Dental practice today as they recently wrote to me to cancel my appointment. They told me that NHS England have advised them to cancel all routine appointments for the next few months. They will only accept emergencies. They were unable to advise me when I might expect to get an NHS appointment but that…

Is it okay to have two dentists?
Good Afternoon, I am in a strange position. I am lucky enough to have a great NHS dentist near me. They are not always available though , as I understand for part of the week as they do private work , at a practice they own about 40 miles away. They also have lots of patients to deal with. I would hate to lose my…

NHS child braces
Hi My son has been referred to the orthodontist for braces. His teeth have large gaps between them and it's long been decided by the dentist that when the time is right to fit them he would need braces. We went to his first appointment today and the orthodontist said that the NHS don't pay enough for the treatment anymore…

New spectacles with anti glare coating and scratch resistant lenses?
I purchased two sets of spectacles online around three years ago and I ordered the option of anti glare coating and scratch resistant lenses. These lenses had a very slight blue tint to them which I presumed was something to do with the lens coating. I had to order two new sets of spectacles last week with the similar anti…

Can I change my mind about dental fillings?
I've had broken molars (that had already been filled in the past) for quite some time, on my last check up the dentist said I should have them refilled (even though last year he said its fine if I want to leave them as they are and so have other dentists on previous occasions) Anyway, I agreed at the time to come back for…

Denplan
I have paid into Denplan in excess of 30 years and I sent a cheque as usual for 2024 fees but Denplan has returned the cheque stating they no longer accept cheques. I do not want direct debit and being almost 70 do not feel confident with card numbers over the telephone. It is £250 plus can they do this to me? I am lucky…
