Chipped tooth

I've managed to chip my tooth today, it's a very small chip, probably barely noticeable but it does have a little bit of a sharp edge, but no pain

As an NHS patient, what are my likely treatment and costs going to be? Looking online, it seems to be a filling, crown or root canal. All seem a little OTT for what to me looks like a tiny chip. Are there any other options? I read about bonding but that doesn't seem to be available on the NHS.

Thank you

I had bonding (i think) but cant remember what it cost me?

Cant see it specifically listed as an example on the NHS dental treatment costs https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/dentists/how-much-will-i-pay-for-nhs-dental-treatment/

Could you see if a dentist will do it under Band B as "sealant to fill small holes or grooves in your teeth"?

The sharpness goes pretty quickly. I broke a big bit of tooth off. It felt funny for a few days and then it was ok. We are just watching it because it’s not causing any issues and its not visible. By the time you get a dentist appointment it will probably have become less sharp.

Thank you both, I've never had this happen before, I think I did it eating a plum of all things - got too close to the stone.

I'd completely forgot my Dad had a large chip in his tooth for a long time, probably around 40 years before he decided to get it fixed, but it was on a spontaneous whim, I'll see if he can remember what he had done.

It may just need smoothing or a composite filling at worst . In England and Wales the most you would pay on NHS would be a band two treatment.

Thank you! I had visions of a larger bill after seeing crowns suggested
