Private Dentistry Bills
My mum's NHS dentist closed unexpectedly and while trying to get registered with a new one (notoriously difficult, especially with the whole patient roster applying in our rural area), she had pressing dental work. She began treatment privately out of necessity and is two thirds of the way through extensive treatment -…

Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo
I was given a little trial pot of Philip B Russian amber shampoo when I bought something from TJC last month. It was only a 5ml pot so enough for two washes. All I can say is I didn't care for it. It made my hair feel dry and matted. I'm sticking with my usual pantene 3 in 1.

Fragrances
Does anybody else have a love of fragrances? I have about 20 in my collection so far. Today I'm trying Scandal by Roja for the first time. It's very, very good. I'm normally an Amouage fanboy and like most Creed. Dior are also another house that really impress. I don't think they make a bad one at all. What favourites does…

Teeth grinding
Hi guys, My dental hygienist told me in September that the dentin on my lower front teeth is showing quite badly and suggested that I might be grinding my teeth at night. I downloaded an app that can record if you are grinding and have used it every night for about six weeks. There has been no sign at all that I am…

Bed bugs - is it possible...
Is it possible for you to get bitten by bed bugs but not your partner (or whoever you share the same bed with)? I don't particularly want to go to a GP at the moment with this whole world upside down thing going on but i don't have a clue what's the matter with me at the moment. I've been itching for a while and last week…

NHS dentist and PPE charges
Relative has had a letter from their NHS dentist stating that they will need to pay a PPE cost on top of the usual band charges. £5 for a check up and £15 for anything more invasive such as drilling. Is there any guidance or fixed fees for this or do practices make that decision for themselves?

What is the name for this type of prescription?
This might be a really stupid question but I can't find the information anywhere! I have a type of prescription where my doctor renews it for 6 months' worth at a time, but on this prescription I am only allowed to get 3 months from the pharmacy to start with, and then go back in to the same pharmacy 3 months later to ask…

Dental care for over 60s during lockdown
I have two dentists, one private who deals with my implants and an NHS one who looks after the rest of my teeth.
