Any opticians around to explain?

I used to have an optician's appointment every 2 years. Then it changed to one year, so I went recently for a check up. The optician has worried me a bit by saying I will need to be seen in 6 month's time and also wrote a letter for a referral to the eye hospital. In it he referred to IOP last year and this year of 12mmHg Right eye. Left eye 11mmHg left eye last year and 14 mmHg this year. He also referred to 'peripheral corneal changes to both eyes-arcus' and 'some midperipheral changes especially in the left eye.'
I've googled IOP and it says normal range IOP is 10-22mmHg, so what is the optician concerned about and why a specialist referral? Answers in plain English please!

Did you discuss your concerns with the optician at the time?
What did they say?2 -

I think the best thing to do is call and ask to speak to the optician.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Initially ask why you're being referred. It may just be that NHS referral guidance range dictates that he must refer you.
I was referred to my local hospital eye clinic when the guidance range for pressure changed to include the level my eyes had been at for donkeys years. There had been no change to me, just to guidance.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

None of what you have stated would need referral unless he wants a cholesterol check due to the Arcus may not be a bad idea if not checked for a while?1
