For me its all down to diet, if I eat something 'wrong' my joints become very stiff and painful. Had lots of problems over Christmas now I'm back to eating my 'normal' diet its all died down again. Try keeping food diaries and reactions2

As above, I'd concentrate on diet and gentle exercise:

Omega 3 and 6 ease mine..
Not a doctorLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.1 -
Sorry being late with thanks, much appreciated. Consultants seem to just want to replace joint. Not been any help. Agree suejb20

I've got arthritis in my hands and wrists, I wear compression gloves at night which are a tremendous help, I take linseed oil and if all else fails I crochet something and I suppose it works like physio.1

I have Osteoarthritis in left knee and been waiting for total knee replacement since last March. I'm struggling to walk without experiencing excruciating pain. I have been told to buy a knee brace for which there are many. I'd like to know if anyone is currently experiencing what I currently am and if anyone else uses a brace and which type, there are many, I'm baffled.
Kind regards Jeff.1 -
Didn't the person who told you to buy a knee brace give you any recommendations? Can you not contact them and ask? What suits one person may not necessarily be the best choice for someone else.1

CookieMonster said:No tomatoes. Is that from your own experience? Most Google searches suggest that it's a myth.In fact I could only find one that sort-of agreed - but only because of the uric acid content which can trigger gout:
4. Tomatoes
Some people with arthritis swear that nightshade vegetables — such as tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and peppers — cause their arthritis to flare. While there aren't any studies to support a link between arthritis pain and most nightshades, tomatoes may be an exception. That's because they raise levels of uric acid. Elevated uric acid can trigger gout, a form of arthritis that targets the joints of the toes, fingers, wrists, knees, and elbows.
Instead, try other vegetables that aren't in the nightshade family. Vegetables are such powerful protection against arthritis that eating a produce-filled diet may reduce your risk of arthritic knees by 40 percent. Roast a big pan of vegetables, such as carrots, squash, and Brussels sprouts, and add them to salads, sandwiches, and grain dishes.
This is a UK organisationAlongside volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers and friends, we do everything we can to push back against arthritis. Together, we’ll continue to develop breakthrough treatments, campaign relentlessly for arthritis to be seen as a priority, and support each other whenever we need it.
Who we are
We are Versus Arthritis. We’re the 10 million people living with arthritis. We’re the carers, researchers, healthcare professionals, friends, parents, runners and fundraisers all united in our ambition to ensure that one day, no one will have to live with the pain, fatigue and isolation that arthritis causes.
and their website says:Elimination diets
Some people avoid certain ‘trigger foods’ in case they make their arthritis worse. Common foods on the ‘triggers list’ include citrus fruits, because the acidity exacerbates inflammation; and nightshade-family vegetables (tomatoes, peppers and aubergines) because they contain solanine, which some people fear can cause pain and inflammation. But research has shown no link between inflammation and such vegetables.
“There is no conclusive evidence,” says Thornton-Wood. “Solanine is also found in foods not in the nightshade family, such as blueberries, apples and cherries.”
