Portuguese Laurel experts needed.
Hi, Bought a new house. The landscapers planted some Portuguese Laurel at the front of my house which are now about 2 to 3 feet high, but didn't plant anything to hedge off my rear garden.....They have planted the Portuguese Laurel about 30cm apart. I have a small 2 or 3 metre section of garden where I'd like to put a row…

Pest, disease, too dry or just one of those things
3 years ago I brought some Gaillardia Arizona as tray plants - Used in various beds they have been excellent, flowering March to October ( when I cut them back ) they seem to be pest free, the bees love them and there is usually over a bucket a week in deadheads - But every year, usually from July onward, bits of some…

Blackberry leaves
I have a recently planted Merton thornless blackberry which has settled well except there is some mottling of the leaves. Having googled this I'm quite worried as some diseases would necessitate the destruction of the plant. I'll see if I can post a close up of a couple of stems that I've removed. Thanks

Are they Courgettes?
Was given a couple of courgette plants (just gone on a spare patch of earth) - the fruit on the middle pic is about twice the size of a tennis ball and the lower one almost football size - they have never been the diameter of ones grown in previous years - are they really a type of courgette?

Another Leylandii problem!!
Have had to get the tree people in to deal with a neighbour's line of Leylandii hedging whose branches were overshadowing the back of my garden. Have had the thing cut right back to the boundary but this has left me with a multitude of quite large cut branch surfaces which looks unappealing. Very starkly white against the…

What’s happening to my bumblies?
I’m not sure if this is the right forum but I’m hoping some knowledgeable gardeners may be able to explain why the bumble bees in my garden are dying? I have three massive lavender plants which are abuzz with bumblebees but am getting very distressed at finding lethargic and dying bees clinging to the flowers. I’m hoping…

Overgrown conifer starting to knock wall over
The picture below explains the story really, the conifer outside my house has overgrown to the point of breaking the supporting wall. What options do I have here? If I trim it down, will the root still continue to grow? It'd be a shame to get rid of it, but if it will only get worse, it'll have to go!

Wasps
Found out the hard way that wasps can get mad when disturbed. Tbh wasn't sure if they were wasps popping out of a hole in my garden border until I got too close and was stung! Anyone have a non toxic way of helping me move these critters along? 🐝

How much or how to?
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone could shed some light on this. A while ago, I pulled some shrubs out from a long patch of grass next to the driveway. This keeps growing back with long grass and weeds. I've tried several times to kill this off, but whatever I try, nothing seems to work. Is there a cost effective way…

Where did all the slugs go?
I gave up planting anything young in our garden because an army of slugs would immediately rasp it to the roots. Every morning the ground would be covered with their trails of doom. This year - nothing! We put a pond in three years ago so the frogs from the tadpoles we introduced have started to reproduce. Blackbirds now…

Anyone know what these berries are please?
Hi all you wise and knowledgeable people. Whilst out collecting wild strawberries this morning I found these. The first is the size of a blackcurrant but growing singly not in bunches. Blackcurrant like leaves, but not much bigger than the fruit. Inside many small pips, like a blackcurrant. The second is growing on a very…
