Over payment
Good morning, On 24th December I paid off my credit card in full. On 2nd January they took the minimum payment. I’m now a few pounds in credit. Should I recall the direct debit? Am I going to be penalised for this? Any other advice? Thanks

Card clash: if you use contactless to travel, how do you organise your cards?
If you use contactless payment when travelling, how do you avoid card clash? Do you use RFID-blocking sleeves? Do you only carry one card with you when you go out? Do you take several cards but keep them in different places? Or do you use a virtual wallet on a mobile phone to pay instead?

Unable to view my Barclaycard in the app
I've been facing an issue for quite a while where my Barclaycard credit card isn't showing up in the app. This is more of an issue now as I'd like to switch over to a different card, but based on chats with their support team, this is only possible via the app - which I'm unable to do because of this issue. Is anyone else…

Zopa
Twice I have tried to transfer my Zopa credit card balance to Barclays and Halifax and was told Zopa won't allow me to do so, the chat to an agent is very unhelpful and vague apart from stating that the banks are part of their NewDay providers that they dont allow transfers to be made to, please could you advise me as this…

Capital One - paid on time but they say I missed a payment
My Capital One payment was due on 5 January (as per the bill which says payment is due on 5 January). I paid on 5 January through the app using a debit card. Today I have received an email saying that I missed a payment and have been charged £12. I checked my bank and the money for the payment left my account on 5 January.…

Downgrading Barclays Avios Plus before choosing reward
I’ve reached the reward bonus (BA upgrade voucher or 7500 Avios) on the Barclays Avios Plus Mastercard. The £20 month fee is quite steep so I’m keen to downgrade to the Barclaycard Avios (free Mastercard) but haven’t yet chosen my reward as i don’t know whether I’ll accrue enough Avios in 2 years to really make the upgrade…

Can I transfer the balance of a closed account?
I'm currently repaying the balance on a barclay card credit card which was closed last year (due to persistent debt or whatever they call it) Because of the interest I'm barely making a dent into what I have left to pay (paying as much as I can afford each month). I've since acquired a 0% balance transfer card with just…

New Day cards
I got an Aqua card a couple of years ago. It had £600 as a starting limit which remained the same until August 2023 when it was put up to £1100 and then again the other day to £1850. About a year ago, I also applied and got a Marbles card. Again, it has a credit limit of £600 and was then increased to £1350 the other day.…

s75 CCA and Air tickets
So MSE says that you don't get s75 protection for purchases from a travel agent because using an agent breaks the 'direct link' between a purchaser and the supplier. So you have to rely on a chargeback. That's not great. If I book a £200 air ticket and the airline goes bust and it costs me £400 to buy a replacement ticket,…

Is it better to stay in credit or pay off in full to improve credit score? (0% card)
My credit score is currently above 700. I recently took out a credit card for my groceries with a limit of £500 (0% for 12 months) Each time I spend on the card, I move money from my debit account to an easy access savings. To improve my credit score in the long term should I: a) Pay off in full each month b) Pay minimum…

Credit eligibility and scoring
Hi, I recently applied for a credit card and although I was accepted I was given a very low limit. So low it did not make it worth sticking with the card as I solely applied for the Sign-up Bonus to earn Avios. I am in an odd situation in that, in recent months, as a result of uncertainty in the economy, I decided to sell…

Pitfalls using 0% Credit as a loan when you have the funds
We are about to embark on a DIY project and have £70k in cash funds. I'm currently getting almost 5% return on that cash. So I though for a few of the major purchases like the kitchen (12k) and Tiles (3k) where I am purchasing those items from a business that I could use a 0% 12-20 month credit card and then use the funds…
