HSBC Letter - We are clearing your outstanding balance!
I've had a letter from HSBC today that says 'as a gesture of goodwill, we are clearing the outstanding balance on your credit card'. Although it falls into the 'too good to be true' category, they are not asking for anything, it's simply a statement that my direct debit will cease on 29th February. I only have one credit…

Have lenders changed their eligibility criteria?
I took out a 0% balance transfer card around 2 years ago. Nothing has changed much, if anything, my salary has gone up, we've lived in our house longer and the amount I want to borrow has gone down. Trying to find a card to transfer again and everywhere is saying I'm not eligible. Anyone know why please?

Refunds and how they're credited
If I receive a refund for a transaction, is it treated as other payments (I'm aware I still have to make my monthly minimum payment on top of that) and credited to the oldest transaction first and so on, or is it specific to the transaction being refunded?

How do you start with a credit card to build a rating
Please can someone advise. My son needed a car when at uni. I bought one and put it on my credit card. He pays me bit by bit every month which I then pay off the card. It is always more than the minimum amount. I suggested that as he has finished uni and is now in fulltime self employment he should get a credit card 0% and…

Credit Card Query on 0% - To pay or not to pay?
Hi, I have a 0% CC with Barclays with the 0% due to end December 2024. My balance is £3k with a £4k limit, so I'm keen to bring my utilisation down. I've been preapproved for a 0% balance transfer with Natwest with a higher limit, so I'm trying to decide, do I pay off a lump sum of my Barclays to bring the utilisation down…

NatWest no longer crediting transactions that have been scammed
Once when I had some fraudulent transactions I called the Credit Card company and they removed the transactions. This time I had a small fraudulent transaction, where I had been tricked into giving my card details. It was a dubious website offering no services. This time I called NatWest and eventually got through to the…

I recently took out a 0% card to pay off the Virgin one, but I can’t find the actual card. So I called them to get a replacement and was…

Balance transfer and money transfer on one card?
Hello, I am looking to consolidate a loan and some credit card debt onto one card that has an 18 month 0% interest offer. I am not sure if this is possible to do on one card so I thought I'd ask here if anyone knows of a card that offers both of these? I thought it would be better than taking out 2 cards, one for a balance…

Maxed out credit cards
Over the last 18 months with everything going on I've been forced to go onto my credit cards and they're now all maxed out. Mr credit score has dropped and is now saying that being 90% across x5 cards is negatively impacting my score. I've now got some light at the end of the tunnel and can start paying off larger chunks…
