Hi
I want to transfer my credit card bill to a 0% and although my credit is fine I quite simply don't earn enough to get a 0% one. If my husband who is our main income got a 0% card could I transfer my balance to his card?
Many thanks

Many won't allow cross name transfers, historically that was circumvented as you just had to make a declaration that it was your debt but since OpenBanking they can check for themselves - though not all have implemented this.
If you search on here you will find those banks that will allow it and those that won't, just make sure the thread isn't too old else could be out of date. There is the way around that with a Money Transfer card but they tend to have less favourable terms to balance transfer.1 -
Transferring between our accounts has never been questioned/flagged/refused. This is between myself and my OH and between Santander, M&S, Barclaycard & MBNA. I never asked any bank about it probably because in any of the advertising bumpf they sent me they never mentioned it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Try it and see. Anecdotally many people have done that successfully.
If it doesn't work then try this. I have no idea if it will work. I have little knowledge of the normal practices of credit card providers.
Your husband could take out a 0% card, apply for an additional card in your name on his account and you then transfer your balance to your additional card number.
There may be flaws in that suggestion that those with more knowledge than me may point out. The 0% interest may be limited to his card number only.
Alternatively, can you include your husband's income in your own application form?A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
Money Transfer card would be the alternative (and if you want to eat the double fees, BT off the MT card as the offers are usually longer!)
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
