My husband is just finishing his MA to become a music teacher, literally three weeks to go. He has a job lined up to start in september, contract signed etc. What do we put under 'employment' in the CC application? Can we count him as already employed, or do we have to call him a student? Thanks SArah

Should I report to Information Commissioner?
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice on whether I should report Skycard to the ICO. I wrote to Skycard on 6th March 2008 using MSE's template letter, requesting my default charges, along with a cheque for £10 as advised, and on 14th April, the cheque was cashed. I received a letter from Skycard on 3rd…

Can you request statements for a closed credit card ? I need to get old statements from a credit card to check through and highlight some payments made on it. I read on one of the bank charges threads (although this is nothing to do with claiming charges so just a list of charges is no good to me) that statements do not…

Spending on a BT card
I know it's one of Martin's cardinal sins - to make purchases on a card intended to attract people on the basis of interest-free balance transfers. However, the card has a three-month interest-free purchases period and I am able to repay the FULL amount in May after I get the withdrawal from my savings account. Am I…

What's cheapest way of using credit card for foreign currency?
I've got a MINT card and need to use it for spending money (about £300) in New York. Is it best to do a cash advance in the UK and then convert it to dollars in Marks and Spencers or is it cheaper just to use the credit card to buy the dollars? I take it using it abroad in an ATM will be extremely expensive. Thanks

Quick Amex qu - when does my cashback period start?
I have been accepted for the 5% introductory rate and have the card but haven't yet used it. I was told by Amex that the 3 month 'clock' would start ticking down from the first time I use my card. Do other people agree with this or should I ought to start spending on it right away?? Thanks
