Contribution based JSA aged 65
Hi I am being made redundant at the end of next week, am currently aged 65 and doing 2 days a week voluntary work in addition to my paid job. If I sign on to contribution based JSA, which I have contributed enough for, will I be expected to actively look for work as I now don't want to go back into paid employment? I guess…

Would I be entitled to PIP?
Hi Everyone, I haven't a clue about this as I've never claimed anything apart from jobseekers allowance when I was 18 and that was only for a 2 month period. I'm now 31 and worked ever since. Claiming carers allowance
I claim carers allowance for my friend. Unfortunately she has just had a fall and had to go into hospital. She will be in there for at least 2 weeks but most likely longer as she will need to go to a rehab setting after this. I've seen online that I need to update my circumstances on my carers allowance claim and I assume…

AA stopping after hospital admission
I'd be really grateful if someone could clarify. If someone went into hospital some months ago and was then discharged and their Attendance Allowance stopped presumably because they were in hospital for more than 28 days, should they be sent a new form to complete ? I know normally it can just be re-instated when they come…

Child benefit back dated further than 3 months?
My 3rd child was born in 2017 when Child Tax Credits was capped at 2 children, I wrongly presumed this to be Child Benefit. It was only this year I realised, HMRC have back dated 3 months and I have to appeal for further, has anyone had any success going back more than 3 months or am I wasting my time?

Migration letter received!
Hi, I, today, have received the dreaded migration letter. I know I've probably asked this before but I'm very confused about it all. My husband is on Esa Cont (Support Group) and we get WTC/CTC and Housing Benefit. I work P/T so don't get carers. I understand the WTC/CTC/HB but confused with the Esa. I've read that Esa…

I have…

How RSU affect UC
Hi, I have got some RSU vested (£50k) this month. After tax its roughly (£30k) and I sold some share (£6k) last month. In my payslip of this month, this RSU vest has been added as taxable income and the tax has been adjusted accordingly. The take home pay for this 'special' month is slightly higher than normal regular,…

Migration from TC to UC and self employment
We've received a migration notice and need to change to UC from TC. Husband is self employed. Is it best to start the claim on the 1st please so our assessment period would be from the 1st to the 30th? I think that would work best in terms of calculating his earnings from self employment? Also our next tax credits payment…
