Deducting tax from monthly self-employed income and tax payments on account
I'm self employed and need to make tax payments on account (i.e. that HMRC demands based on the most recently submitted SA tax return - half the annual tax by 31 Jan of the current tax year, and the 2nd half by 31 July of the following tax year). 1. Does the UC system automatically deduct tax when I submit my earnings each…

ESA v JSA class 1
After a few weeks on contribution JSA I switched to ESA as I have health issues. To my surprise I was told I did not have enough contributions for ESA, I don't understand how I can have enough contributions for JSA, but not ESA? I believe JSA is class 1 and ESA is class 1 and 2, class 2 does not apply to me as I have never…

Will a minus figure on self employed work be taken off my paye figure for UC?
I work both PAYE and self employed work. If on my universal credit inputting of data the figure after expenses is minus e.g. minus £500 will that be taken off my paye money ? If it is, might give me a total figure which makes me eligible for some universal credit money.

UC WCA - How often?
Basically what the title states. Is the WCA a one time thing or is it something that automatically gets reviewed after so many years like pip. I have had LCWRA for 5 years now and my PIP has been reassessed during that time but not WCA.

How Universal Credit calculates losses for couples
Hello, We've been trying without success to understand how Universal Credit is carrying forward our losses as a couple and would appreciate any explanation. We've recently started with them. The first month we both made a small profit so had a small payment. Next month my wife had to pay 6 months rent on her shop creating…

Overpaying mortgage
I have been overpaying my mortgage and receive universal credit. I am close to the £6k savings and have just realised would universal credit count overpaying my mortgage as deprivation of assets? I see you are allowed to repay debt but this is above what my agreement is.

Question about AET in Universal Credit.
I get paid 4 weekly and work 30 per week at £11.44 per hour.
I understand universal credit will take 4 weekly pay as monthly when calculating
payment. According to all sources I have looked at they don’t calculate
AET in that manor, they take an average over 3 months from which they work out
and average weekly gross…

Discretionary trust and UC
My dad past away in February this year and left me some money in a discretionary trust. I had to apply for UC in July. We haven't started probate yet, blocks along the way but should I be telling UC about the trust now or wait until probate is done? And will it affect my UC? My sister and I are trustees of the trust so I…

UC migration, last ESA payment not showing up?
I applied for for UC 2 weeks ago. It was the day I was due ESA. So I thought I may be able to budget carefully and get through the month reasonably comfortably. Whilst my carers…

We were sent the paperwork to transfer to UC but didn’t do…
