Limited Capability to Work

I received a letter from DWP in Oct 2021 saying I had limited capability to work. At this time I didn't realise I was supposed to get a payment for this. I have discovered today that I should have been getting payments but I have received nothing. I was advised that my query was being referred to a case manager and the back payment would probably only be 6 months. Is this correct?

Did you receive LCW or LCWRA?

Do you claim UC with a partner who gets LCWRA themselves?

[Just to clarify, if it's Limited Capability for Work (LCW) then there is no extra element.]

If it's Limited Capability for Work and work-Related Activity (LCWRA) then backpay should be at least to the date of the assessment, but if your fit notes before the assessment covered a continuous period without gaps, it should be backdated to the fourth full assessment period after reporting your health condition.
